Chasing Ice

Chasing Ice directed by Jeff Orlowski and released in 2012 is about global warming and how dangerous it can be for all. Melting Ice in Greenland, Iceland, and other cold places are effected. This film had some very good points, but I would not watch it again or recommend it. It was a very beautiful film that had some sad, happy, and amazing parts in it. There just isn't really a reason to watch this film, unless you are passionate about global warming. Global warming is when ice starts to melt at an alarming pace, dirt isn't impact by global warming. James Balog who is the photographer for Chasing Ice has a logical explanation for his experiment, he has the proof and he makes people who watch Chasing Ice react to all sorts of feelings. …show more content…

They feel sad at one point and then at another point they feel fascinated. There was something that James Balog said during the film that was very inspirational. He said out there in the cold and in the pitch dark. He states "You're no longer just a human being walking around in the world, you’re a human animal striding around on the surface of the planet that's out in the middle of the galaxy". The pictures that he showed while he stated "these are the most beautiful thing any human being could see." It actually looked like you were in a galaxy. James Balog is someone that looks for the good in life. No matter what it needed he will do whatever he needs. In Chasing Ice he injures his knee and his doctor told him to stay home and to rest, and it would be a good idea not to climb. He went out and climbed anyway. It was a bad idea but he did not regret it. When he did this he could have hurt himself even more and maybe even died by not having the strength to stop himself if he slipped or fell.

In conclusion James Balog is amazing. He showed people that global warming is true and is happening right now. He made a film showing global warming can be a beautiful thing to witness, while showing you the impact it can have on the earth. This isn't a job to James Balog, he doesn't do it for the money or the fame. He does this because he cares about what will
