It makes kids change there perspective in a bad way. For example, some people say Pony boy should be sent off. The question is... What if you were in his place? What if he starts to fail from stress and wants to drop out of school?
Their Struggle is Real Students sat in straight long rows as I gently placed a diagnostic assessment on their desk. As I continued placing the diagnostic assessment on each desk, I listened to the moans and groans of my students who resented the assessment. I could hear the females in my classroom sucking their teeth in disappointment, the males mumbling “Wait we Have an Essay”!.I looked out the corner of my eye watching students put their head down. Many students either stared blankly at their assessments with a look of confusion on their face, while other students raised their hand waiting to be called. Before I assisted any of my students, I explained the directions and the purpose of a diagnostic assessment.
All readers have come across the stereotypical character who is charming, good-looking, and the savior of the story and our hearts, but that is present in commercial fiction. In literary fiction, characters are something greater and deeper. In literary fiction, characterization is considered one of the most important elements in an author’s work. Characterization is the concept of creating a character.
The knowledge I gleaned from this activity resulted in a more tailored and focused learning experience for my students which met them where they were instead of assuming what they did or didn’t know. My lessons were more appropriate for the learning environment as a result of giving a pre-test and at the end of the unit both the students and I will be able to have tangible proof that our time was not wasted. Learning occurred and this pre-assessment allows us to prove
In today’s educational setting, teachers must teach according to a strict curriculum, following a timeline of when to teach the lesson, how long to teach it for, and how to teach it. At the end of each lesson, a test is given to the students, and then a new lesson begins, pushing the previous lesson out of the brain probably never to be used again. Better yet, these lessons that are being taught by teachers are not showing up as frequently in standardized testing. Instead, these focus more on logic, strategy, and time-management, or how fast one can finish a test. Unfortunately, while some kids can prosper under timed conditions, many are not good at multiple-choice only tests, and they are frowned upon for low scores.
This system may either be good or bad depending on the nature of society. If the society is good the system will aim to promote good moral values; if the society is bad the system will promote unethical practices. To many educators and parents, it’s common sense: children who have strong social and emotional skills perform better in school, have more positive relationships with peers and adults, and have more positive emotional adjustment and mental health. Because children spend a significant portion of their time in schools, schools are a major context for social and emotional development, growing along with and connected to academics. Conclusion Eliminating or minimizing bullying at Lakewood Elementary and placing the focus point on a more conclusive objective such as the point system will enrich these children with a sense of responsibility and amour-propae when it comes to behavior in school.
It was not developed to traumatize or negatively impact the outcome for the children place in the system. Creating more individualized care and better systematic tracking of these children will help provide better emotional and mental support. I incorporate this learned experience daily and learn through each success and discovered area of improvement. Addressing my students needs using a variety of assessment tools has been a beneficial practice to help guide instruction. Students have different learning styles and their strengths and weaknesses are not always apparent using the same methods of assessment. Utilizing formative, standards(goal)-based, anecdotal, observational and benchmarks has driven my instructional programs. The combination of different assessments provides me with a multi-dynamic perspective of my students allowing me to better understand their strengths, weakness and academic needs.
I say that it’s human nature, and you can’t fix that. As such, the current attempt at stopping bullying is not, and will not, work. What we need to do, is cut down our efforts. We have a lot of efforts, but that doesn’t mean that they’re good.
The idea behind this is that the children will understand that everybody is somebody and that everybody is unique in their own way and we need to respect
At the same time, it will allow teachers to cater for mixed ability
Schools which have implemented strict anti-bullying policies have taken an effective approach to stop bullying and create a healthy learning environment for students to participate
