Charles attended Fredericton Collegiate School and King’s College which is now known as the University of New Brunswick. After he received his B.A, he studied law and became a barrister in 1833. In 1836, he married Amelia Hatfield and had four sons and four daughters.
There have been many prominent leaders that have molded America into what it is today, Lee is one of them. Robert E. Lee was born in Virginia, January 19, 1807, although one historian believes has was born one year earlier (Wikipedia.com 1). Little is actually known about his childhood, and Lee scarcely mentioned it as an adult. His father, Henry “Light Horse” Lee, left him and his family at a young age and never returned. In 1825, Robert E. Lee attended West Point and graduated second in his class in 1829.

John C. Calhoun was born on March 18, 1782 in Abbeville district, South Carolina. He was born to a wealthy family that had recently moved from Pennsylvania. He enrolled in a local academy at eighteen years old and attended Yale College two years later. After college, Calhoun spent a year at law school and studied in the office of a member of the Federalist Party. He was elected to the South Carolina state legislature in 1808 and to the United States House of Representatives in 1811.
On January 26, 1880 at the Little Rock Barracks in Arkansas, Douglas Macarthur would be born into the military life. His father, Arthur was a decorated Civil War hero and Army Captain. His mother, Mary was a native of Virginia where her brothers also fought in the Civil War. Over a period of 240 years there has been 44 presidents and the U.S has had both good times and bad times and that all depended on who was running the country and what choices they made when it came to crisis and many other difficulties. His father owned a successful clothing shop and the family was wealthy until the stock market crash of 1929, the start of the Great Depression. The family moved to Brooklyn afterwards. Unable to go college after high school, Miller worked numerous odd jobs until he was accepted into the University of Michigan.
