1.3 Chetan Bhagat: A Biographical Sketch
The present research aims to analyze two novels of Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone and The Three Mistakes of My Life. A short biographical sketch of Chetan Bhagat can be given as follows.
Chetan Bhagat (22 April 1974)
Chetan Bhagat (22 April 1974), born in a middle class family in Delhi, is an Indian author, columnist, and motivational speaker. He is the author of the best-selling novels: Five Point Someone (2004), One Night @ the Call Center (2005), The 3 Mistakes of My Life (2008), 2 States (2009), Revolution 2020 (2011), and What Young India Wants (2012). Chetan Bhagat is a former student of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi form where he completed degree in Mechanical Engineering. Later he graduated from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. After graduating from IIM he had been working in Hong Kong as an investment banker for eleven years. After quitting his job as an investment banker Chetan Bhagat returned India and started perusing his hobby of writing. He already wrote two books when he was working. He is now residing in Mumbai with his family. Chetan Bhagat also wrote columns for leading newspapers in India. He has a number of columns to his credit which he wrote in The Times of India. He has also delivered a couple of speeches in Pune and Delhi to the personnel from corporate sector. He has in many ways, earned a group of reader in the age of Facebook and Twitter.
