Have you heard of the next big food controversy? This one was brought to my attention and the attention of millions in the show Last Week Tonight. It is a sad story to talk about but an important one. Of course I am talking about how bad chicken farmers are treated. Oh, have you not heard of this news story? Well let me tell you how bad the chicken farms are treated, how they cannot defend themselves at all, and all of the debt they have with no money to pay it back with. So should we give farmers more support or are they fine the way they are? I believe they need our support now.
First, there are a four biggest chicken raising companies in the USA and they are Tyson, JBS USA, Cargill Meat Solutions, and Smithfield Foods.They care too much about the

farmers pay up to millions of dollars for chicken house and other devices that the big companies require the farmers to purchase which will lead farmers into a million or more dollars in debt just for having the basic. They do this to have control over the farmers all the time. And if farmers do not have these special devices than farmers do not get any chickens to raise so they cannot make any money any money to pay off this debt that they have cumulated. Also, some devices that farmers have to pay is not useful enough to use which makes them useless for the farmers. So basically, the farmers have to pay for having the farm and equipment which costs a lot of money but the chickens own every single chicken you raise. This means the companies own what makes the money and the farmers own what does not make the money. This is a terrible investment for anyone that does not know about how it works and they do not know how it works because the companies make it sound to be the best deal ever.
