The Glass Castle is a memoir written by Jeannette Walls about her very difficult childhood and moments throughout it. It follows Jeannette from her first memory all the way to a somewhat recent memory in her adult life. Throughout the story, Rex and Mary Walls who are the parents of Lori, Jeannette, Brian, and Maureen Walls do not make very good parenting choices and are neglectful and, to an extent, abusive. They seem to be too hard on their kids at times and too easy on them at other times to a point where some would even consider it child abuse.
