In the story, Tending Roses, Katie reads her grandmother’s journal. After reading it, she promises to look out for fireflies the next day. I believe she did this because her grandmother’s jounal entry made her realize how she does not pay attention to the outside world enough. In her grandmother’s jounal, her grandma expressed how she whe remembered what it felt like when she had seen those sights so mezmorizing. Those sights that her grandma described seemed comforting and welcoming.
Elie Wiesel goes through 2 years of inhumane treatment, but always looks forward, because he has his father. When the Holocaust starts to come to an end, his father dies from Dysentery, leaving Elie lifeless. Although, through all that hardship, he recovers and that family bond can preserve sanity, and never to give up on life. When Elie endured all of this, usually people lose their sanity, but not Elie, for he had his father through most of it. This quote shows that without his father, the only family he had left, he was just an empty shell.
When reading this passage I had to look up the word, "Lethal" which means "sufficient to cause death", I also had to look up the word "uttering" that means " make a sound with ones voice". This quote makes me feel very sad and mad because she is trying to help the Jews by warning them and they are beating her and gagging her, That makes me disgusted. I think people didn't believe her because it was pitch black at the time and no one saw anything while she was screaming fire, fire. That is a warning for the Jews to save themselves and try to escape while they can. It is very obvious that the people were scared because they kept telling them to "make her shut up".

Hoot is a great novel taken place in 2002 by Carl Hiaasen. It takes place in sunny Florida. So far the book has stated that the new arrival of Roy makes him a classic “new kid”, at first but he quickly makes two friends, Beatrice and I predict that the other one is the Barefoot kid he passed by on the bus. He's always wondering about him and who he is, I predict he is Roy’s new best friend. One clue in Hoot that lead me to the assumption is… “all day long Roy couldn't stop thinking about the strange boy.

Queen Gertrude is the Queen of Denmark, Hamlet’s mother, the widow of Old Hamlet and the wife of Claudius, brother of her dead husband. Gertrude is ignorant and a woman who means no harm but because of her actions it contributes greatly to the terrible events that occur throughout the play. In this play there’s many conflicts, one of the first conflicts was when Gertrude married King Claudius two months after Old Hamlet’s death. Gertrude is ignorant because she’s not aware of anything happening. For example she’s not aware that King Hamlet’s murder was by his own brother Claudius, even though they were some hints out there to show that it was King Claudius who killed Old Hamlet.
Mental State “ I shut my eyes and all the world is dead, I lift my eyes and all is born again” (37 Sylvia Plath). one of the many quotes from Plath and in this book she uses it why? What is plath trying to tell you, is she being hypothetical or is she serious?
Why does everyone seem to feel the need to cover themselves up? We all have unique qualities, but since it’s different from the stereotype, we lock it in box and throw the key away. Not everyone is supposed to be the same and that’s something that needs to be publicised more. In William Shakespeare's, Hamlet, the characters in the book also feel the need to change themselves to retrieve the acceptance of others.
