Child Of Dandelions Essay Draft #3 Child Of Dandelions is about a girl named Sabine and her family, they were living peacefully in Uganda until the dictator Idi Amin had made it mandatory for Indians to leave Uganda. The family had to flee Uganda or else they would get killed.In the story the author showcased many real life examples of being a risk taker. Giving readers many good examples of being a risk taker, from the protagonist Sabine going against others for her beliefs, to characters helping each other out no matter what risk. As the story progressed Sabine had started to grow more independent. She had to rely on her own decisions without any guidance or help from anyone. As a young girl she had to face difficult challenges like finding her missing uncle and trying to win her friendship back. Sabine and her best friend Zena both had different opinions on the bend of Indians causing them to argue and eventually split. Sabine still fought for what she believed in even if it meant risking her friendship. others disagreeing and people hating on her. Similar to the famous M.L.K, world known risk taker who helped fought in the civil rights movement. Both can or are a massive inspiration to the younger generations since both show that always stand up for what you believe in no matter what risk. In conclusion, Child Of Dandelions is a good book for I.B students to read as it demonstrates real life examples and traits of being a risk taker. From showing them that a risk taker is not always about doing something abnormal but fighting for what you believe in, helping others, and lastly doing things
