Have you ever worked two years to earn something? Billy shows determination by never giving up. Billy worked two years for $50, he did not give up getting the dogs. Billy found an add in a magazine for dogs. The price of one dog was $25 but Billy wanted two. Billy really wants the dogs so he worked hard to make $50. It took Billy two years to make $50. Another way Billy is determined is he was hunting one night however, his dogs tree a mountain lion. Old Dan barks like wolf. Then the mountain lion makes a move and attacks. The two dogs and the mountain lion fight. But then Billy sees Little Ann has a deep and painful wound to the shoulder. He rushes in with his axe. Billy gets knocked to the ground, the lion is about to pounce. This example shows billy is determined to kill or injure the mountain lion. Secondly Billy is determined when he was hunting for coons. Billy is in a competition for hunting and The older men are about to give up because the day is breaking, but Billy knows his dogs will find the raccoon. He is proven right as Little Ann starts to howl and lets them know she has treed the raccoon. That night they are approved for the championship finals. The next day Little Ann and Old Dan fina a raccoon right away. The raccoon escapes into the water on Old Dan 's head. The raccoon tries to reach the shore and Old Dan catches him. After they killed the coon, Little Ann licks Old Dan 's cuts and he does the same for her, then the two dogs go off to find more raccoons
