For many years children have been growing up thinking that social class determined their future. That being raised by from a wealthy family will eventually help support them in the future. In today’s society many children have been poor and now are famous, well-educated and stable in their lives, whether there were growing up poor or rich. The problem lies in the difference of children raised by poor parents versus children raised by rich parents. Do children need to get everything they want? Does a little girl need really need that doll? What role does money play within a family? What people must understand is that properly raising a child does not rely on how much money your parents may have or how many shoes you have, but should be about the education that is taught to that child as they learn to grow and mature, …show more content…

When a topic like subject like this one has too many factors to take in and what kind of events might happen in that period of time. In this article “Poor People Don't Have Less Self-Control. Poverty Forces Them to Think Short-Term” author Elliot Berkman states “Commentators echo the claim that people are poor because they have bad self-control and therefore make nearsighted choices”. Elliot also states research form psychologist say “the opposite might be the case: poverty makes it hard for people to care about the future and forces them to live in the present”. This statement from psychologist infers that poor people don’t choose to stop being poor but that they no chance but to be poor. What these commentators must understand is that it is really hard to work in this economy, with all the bad things happening like depression, cut backs for the economy.
