1) What are some ways the Christian gospel is perceived in our culture? a) When Jesus Christ comes into question, individuals deny his divinity and believe that hell is a fictional place. By reducing Jesus Christ to merely a teacher, individuals feel that there is no need to prepare for life after death because it does not exist. Some of these individuals, also, believe that such a loving God could never send those whom He loves to Hell for an eternity. So with that in mind, these particular individuals, feel that if God can never send those whom He loves to Hell, then there is no need for a savior, therefore Christ isn’t God. For the longest, I asked the question “If there is a God, how can He sit back and allow bad things to happen to innocent individuals?” I know from speaking with a lot of ministers, that this is probably one of the most asked questions. Some, to include myself, could not understand how God, of divine power, could not intervene and save the innocent person from such horrible acts. This question, alone, is a moral one, and goes to question the righteousness of God, Himself. 3) What are some specific emotional reasons people may reject the Christian gospel? a) This question kind of goes hand in hand with the aforementioned question. When good individuals go through very traumatic experiences it can sometimes harden their hearts. They cannot fathom the understanding nature of God if He would allow such horrific things to happen to them. When the individual then ponders on this thought, they come to the conclusion that God left them in their time of need, so they reject the very idea of Him. 4) What are some specific intellectual reasons people may reject the Christian
