Throughout time, it made its way to China. While in China, Buddhism was viewed by the people in many ways, both positive and negative.
Hinduism has grown to roughly 900 million followers. There are three great religions and Hinduism comes in third, after Christianity and Islam, even though it is the oldest religion. It began in 2500- 1500 B.C.E. inside the Indus Valley Civilization. There has been findings in the Harappa & Mohenjo Daro civilization, and today’s Pakistan. And it went from the Himalayas to the Arabian Sea.
Christianity spread against a global superpower. Christianity started 2,000 years ago in Israel with Jesus and his teachings. His teachings spread throughout the world and were written into the Bible. Why did Christianity spread thousands of years ago? Christianity took hold of the ancient world through the messages of Christianity, the promise of immortality, and the ways religion spread worldwide.
Religious Influences Towards Western Civilization Religions influence is a factor that effects most societies and spreads from all over the world creating civilizations and cultures that are still continuously changing today. Religion is one of the factors that has made a significant impact on the development of western civilization as with every worldly society. An example of this impact is in the result of the Crusades, including the duration, greatly affecting the religious influence on the western world socially, politically, and economically. An example of a western civilization that was greatly impacted was Europe with the spread of Christianity because of the Crusades and what that influence caused.

Using the Unam Sanctam as his basis, Pope Boniface VIII claims that political power is inferior to and is under the jurisdiction of the Church. According to the Unam Sanctam, the Apostles say that in the Church and its powers, there are two swords, one of the ‘spiritual’ and one of the ‘temporal’ [Lk 22:38]. The spiritual sword is naturally a power of the Church. While the temporal sword is part of Church’s jurisdiction, as confirmed by the word of the Lord to ‘Put up thy sword into thy scabbard’ [Mt 26:52].

Christianity is Everywhere After reading and analyzing multiple pieces of southern literature, one can effortlessly conclude, Christianity is a vital part of southern culture. Each piece of literature mentioned below displays some sort of connection with the Christian faith. With just a morsel of intellectual analyzation one can conclude that although the south may not be centered on Christianity, it is most certainly evident in many aspects of it. For example, the short story titled “Sweat” written by Zora Neale Hurston, a rugged independent black woman named Delia is being abused by her husband, Sykes (Hurston 2).
The religion of Greek society is a significant part of the Greek civilization and 98% are Christians. The third leading division of Christianity is the Orthodox Church traditions, with the Roman Catholics first and the Protestants second. A huge part of the Orthodox organization is the countries of Greece and Russia. In 49 AD, St. Paul was the first founder to speak about Christianity. Orthodox Christian members in North America are approximately 2 to 3 million and some estimate the world population is between 200 to 300 million.
The three major monotheistic religions are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam (p. 187). Knowing that these three are monotheistic, we know that Islam shares some similarities and differences with the other two religions. Since, our focus is Islam in how we compare and contrast. We can start off by saying that it all started when Muhammad had this spiritual vision, that introduced this religion called Islam, in Arabia (p.186). Islam spread significantly among Arabia.
Over time, China’s Christianity population has increased. Today there are 54 million people in China who follow Christianity. To conclude, Christianity wasn’t always big in China until the Christian missionaries arrived. The trade between the China and the Brits were a success at the time.
( Christianity and Judaism) Christianity was founded in c.30 CE in Palestine. Jesus, Peter, and Paul were the early leaders. Christianity’s major locations today are Europe, North and South America. Their sacred text is the Bible.
Unfortunately, Christianity has become a skewed religion. Currently, there are 350,000 different religious bodies that claim to be Christian in the United States. It is no wonder many people find Christianity confusing! It is made worse because each one of these bodies adhere to different beliefs, and often times, these beliefs contradict one another. For example, Roman Catholics believe that the pope has absolute authority in the church, while Protestants believe that the pope is just a man.
Generally speaking, religious diversity is the fact that there are substantial differences in religious belief and practice. As such, I believe that strict exclusivism is the origin of religious diversity. As already noted, strict exclusivism approach is the view that there is only and only one true religion in which the only faithful one will be saved. With that in mind, it is undisputable to say the least this type of methodology has led to religious diversity. While this view has been adopted by many religions, however, it is worth noted that the problem of conflicting-truth claims has always remained controversial among most religions.
