There are many different religions have developed over many years. New ideas, new creations, and even a new culture. Christianity and Buddhism are just two of the many religions that I decided to choose. These religions both contain very different beliefs, and traditions. Therefore are on opposite sides of the spectrum in how the people handle things and their day to day lives.
Christianity for one, believes in one and one only god. There are nearly 2.2 billion people all around the world who follow the Christian beliefs. In this case, Christians believe in the scripture of the Bible. This religion dates all of the way back to the 1st century, starting in Jerusalem, Israel and now has spread worldwide. Christianity for one, believes in a heaven or hell. This basically means that if you follow the word of god and you've done good then you will go to heaven. While on the other hand if you disobey and denied god in front of others then you will go to hell. Another basic belief that christianity follows is that gay marriage(or just even being gay) is a sin and is not to be done. They believe in Buddha a fixed god, as in that all things can change or take different form .This religion was founded by a man named Siddhartha Gautama and dates back all the way to the 5th century BCE. It’s origin is by the border of India and Nepa, by the 6th century Buddhism spread to the east of Asia and has continued its influence. It is now followed by a sum of 495 million people. Buddhists also follow the scripture of buddhavacana. They believe it is words straight from Buddha himself.
Along with many others, Buddhism has had many impacts on our society today. One for example is how Buddhism teaches you the way of life, problem-solving and many answers to most of our problems today as people. Buddhist celebrate things like Vesak, and Songkran. Vesak is celebrated because it is the day of Buddha’s birthday which is a big festival that is celebrated. Songkran is also celebrated because it is a time of cleaning, sprinkling water on the monks, and rescuing fish from the dry river banks in Thailand due to the dry weather and how the rivers dry
