Christopher Boone is the main character in the novel called, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, by Mark Haddon. Throughout the novel, we go through a long journey with the narrator, Christopher. After reading the book, almost every reader will say that the character trait that sums up Christopher is unique. The author portrays the narrator in such an amazing way that the readers can place their feet into Christopher’s shoes. The readers feel the unique life of a teenager with an autism disease. For example, anything the color yellow or brown is an automatic no-no. Christopher doesn’t eat, touch, smell anything yellow or brown… he detests those two colors. The author writes, “H. For example, on the way to school, if he sees four red cars in a row, today will be a super day. It states in the book, “In the bus on the way to school the next morning we passed 4 red cars in a row, which meant that it was a Good Day, so I decided not to be sad about Wellington” (Haddon 24). To most people in the world, seeing four red cars in a row is just a coincidence and nothing more, it has no meaning to it. To continue, another distinction about Christopher is that he is very precise and sophisticated, which was a surprise to most readers. For a fifteen-year-old boy, readers could tell he was special, and right off the bat it was recognizable. Mr. Haddon writes, “My name is Christopher John Francis Boone. I know all the countries of the world and their capital cities and every prime number up to 7,507” (Haddon 2). When people ask for his age, he gives them the age in an odd way.
