In 1906, Clara Germana, a sixteen-year-old Christian girl living in South Africa, made a deal with Satan and became demonically possessed. Soon after making the pact, she sought the help of Father Horner Erasmus and told him what she had done. Father Erasmus told one nun that Clara was telepathic because she revealed secrets to him about people who she never met before, and she was also mysteriously able to speak multiple languages which included: Polish, German, French, and many others which she had no prior knowledge of. In addition, Clara feared spiritual objects, such as rosaries, bibles, and crucifixes and when a nun came near her with a blessed object, she would suddenly gain remarkable strength and launch the nun across the convent room. When a nun secretly sprinkled Clara with holy water, she levitated five feet in the air and that is when Father Horner Erasmus decided to seek the help of Reverend Mansueti for additional assistance. They performed a two-day long exorcism on Clara and during this process, Reverend Mansueti restrained her while Father Erasmus blessed her with holy water and recited the Blessed Sacrament. Father Erasmus commanded the demon to be silent in the name of Jesus and to leave Clara’s body.
