T The commercial starts out at a World War Two boot camp, where United States military recruits are doing push-ups. At the boot camp, an original WB Willy’s Jeep drives past in the background of the scene. The video then cuts to Elvis performing, where a Willy’s Jeep Station Wagon drives by in the background. Godzilla is shown in a mountainous desert region where he is attacking planes flying by; the same Jeep from the previous scene casually crawls up and down the nearby mountain peaks. T The Axe Body Spray commercial “Don’t Rely on Fate” starts out with a group of cave men sitting on a lake that has been partially frozen over. The song “One” by Three Dog Night begins to play in the background. A young man stares at an attractive young woman in a shaggy shift on the far end of camp as the line “One is the loneliest number” is sung. The young man begins to walk over to potentially hit on the girl, but before he can reach her, a crack in the ice appears and his patch of ice begins to float in the opposite direction. The young man looks at the girl with longing as he floats away. In the next scene, he is in Pompeii and as he approaches the girl, a volcano explodes. This sort of scene is recreated over and over again with the same man and woman within the context of history as it progresses. At the end of the commercial the man and woman are in the modern day. The man is in a gas station spraying himself with Axe Body Spray from a shelf. The girl suddenly appears in the store and looks at him in awe. The camera cuts to the young man and woman walking hand in hand away from the gas station. All of a sudden, a gas truck hits the gas station and it explodes, clearly leaving no survivors, but the young man and woman live because they are far from the
