Literary Analysis Essay- Clean Getaway ¨What happens in the dark, always comes to light.¨ In the novel (Clean Getaway by (Nic Stone) it is centered around a boy named Scoob and his grandma where they take an unplanned road trip to travel around the Southern USA. Over time Scoob starts to learn new dark things about the world and things about his Grandma that he was never supposed to know about. Over time Scoob starts to see and learn things about his Grandma and G´pop (Grandpa) that he didn't know about. Grandma (G´ma) starts to tell things to scoob about her and G´pop how Her and G´pop are not who he thinks they are, scoob. In the text by Nic Stone G’ma Starts to Call Scoob as “Jimmy,” making him really uncomfortable. One night, he hears her talk in her sleep, it seems like she is talking to Jimmy. He grows more and more worried. When they stop at a jewelry store, he also learns that pick pocketing used to be her hobby. As they exit, Scoob points out that she is still wearing a ruby ring she tried on, and she is forced to return it to the store, pretending that she was old and forgot she was wearing it.¨ G´ma wait you forgot to take the ring off!!¨ ¨ Oh my!¨ (102 Nic Stone) But in one weird way, she gets to steal a pair of earrings Even if G´ma said that this was all in the past with her and nobody knew about this over time it came out and people now know about it. The reason for the trip that G’ma took. In addition, Scoob does not know a lot of his grandfather because of how he passed away in prison before James was born. However, he learns a lot more from G´ma (Grandmother) when they are on the road for their journey. When they start their journey G´ma says ¨ It's my chance at redemption. To finish what your G´pop (Grandfather) and I started fifty-one years ago¨ but she doesn't explain what ¨chance at redemption¨ (Nic Stone page ) means Scoob her goal by the end of this trip is to make it to mexico just like how she was supposed to before with G´pop. Before they had to cut the trip short because G´ma found out that she was pregnant with Scoobs' father when they were in Atlanta. This shows that G´ma didn´t not only take a trip with her grandson that she was doing it for her and her dead husband to finish something that nobody knew about and make it up to G´pop for some reason. We understand that there was some that they (G´pop and G´ma) were supposed to do when they were on the trip they took only there was a little inconvenience that they didn't know going to happen when they went on this
