Proverbs 12:11, “Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.” Most people realize that the early settlers in America endured many tribulations such as food shortages, fights with Indians, quarrels among leaders, and more. What most people do not realize is that many of these early settlers squandered their time, wasted their energy, and were generally lazy and idle. This was a huge problem for early Americans because in order to survive, it was vital that they work. Why were these early Americans not motivated to work?
Our society is in constant need of energy. 40 percent of the United States energy consumption is from oil. Coal provides 23 percent and natural gas provides 22 percent of our energy. These sources and how much we get from them will soon have to change because as most of us know, our fossil fuels are limited. Once these fossil fuels are used, they cannot be replaced.
Climate Change This quote said by Washington State Governor, Jay Inslee shows the severity of climate change “We are the first generation to feel the sting of climate change, and we are the last generation that can do something about it.” “On Earth human activities are changing the natural greenhouse of the Earth.” (A blanket around the Earth). Burning fossil fuels is causing carbon dioxide to be released into the air.

Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
The earth, our earth, once used to be a healthy environment, with no pollution or destruction. Not until humans began creating advanced technology and other inventions that started to affect the way we live. As humans we thought these inventions would just make life easier for us and we don’t mean to harm the planet. We are all trying to help the planet but at the same time, destroying it.
I believe that polluted oceans can cause both animals and humans to get sick and die. When people pollute, it ends up in the ocean and then people go in the water and get sick. Pollution is not the only thing, plastic is very bad and kills animals. I have seen animals get caught in plastic bags and I have seen animals trying to eat the trash people throw. Imagine trying to relax by walking on the beach and then coming across a dead animal that has plastic wrapped around it, I have seen that
An informative article by David Wallace-Wells discusses how climate change can affect our future while also highlighting how our future might look when this change happens. The article makes it clear that climate change is a direct cause of the human activities. David points out many ways human civilization might be adversely affected due to climate change. He provides many different ways and studies that correlate with climate change. In a total of eight different studies, David provides ways that humans will be affected severely in the future.
For many years, fossil fuels provided a cheap and reliable source of energy, but in recent years, scientists began to question the safety and supply of the energy sources. Many scientists attribute the controversial topic of Global Warming to the high amount of carbon released from fossil fuels. If Global Warming concerns scientists about the environment, one of the options to reduce the amount of Global Warming stems from a transition to renewable energies. Along with the environmental effects of fossil fuels, rates at
Out of all controversial topics, environmental health must be one of the most applicable and relevant topics talked about today. Basically, environmental health is living in a healthy environment. Activists fought for environmental justice because certain living areas resulted in many casualties. Fast forward to today, there is federal law that keeps us safe and for the most part, we all live in healthy environments. There are organizations such as NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences) that identify environmental agents that cause illness to guarantee a safe place to live for everyone.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
Climate Change: There are a number of global problems happening for example terrorism, spread of infectious diseases, poverty, economic crisis, proliferation of nuclear weapons, and increase in armed conflict but none of these problems is much bigger than climate change. I have a strong conviction that Climate Change is a major global problem that possesses the greatest threat to human existence on earth and thus we need to pay a lot attention to this climate change in every part of the world because it is already happening and our weather is in turmoil not by natural events but mainly mankind’s activities. Over most of Earth’s history, natural processes have been responsible for periods of climate change. The Earth 's climate has changed throughout its history long before human activity could have played a role.
The debate surrounding climate change as an urgent issue that is a threat to global security has gained momentum over the last decade. The Stern Review in 2007 brought out the reality that is associated with the extent to which climate change can impact our society. In economic terms, climate change is nothing but a classic example of a market failure, a negative externality. The development around the globe has come with the cost that is climate change. The harmful effects of industrialisation on the environment will have to be paid for by the present and future generations alike.
Throughout the course of history the earth’s climate has dramatically, changed within the last 650,000 years, there has been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat. “In the past two decades, the scientific community has reached an overwhelming consensus those human activities are causing changes to the global climate.” (David B. Resnik). There has been a massive increase production of carbon dioxide, methane, and other greenhouse gases in the last century that has caused the climate change around the world. “If humanity does not start significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, average global temperatures will likely increase by several degrees Celsius in the next fifty years, which would lead disastrous environmental consequences, such as flooding of coastal areas, increased numbers of powerful hurricanes, desertification, decreased agricultural productivity, and loss of biodiversity.”
Introduction: Today it is thought that global warming is a serious problem in our society. Scientist say that global warming has caused an abundance of serious matter like polar bear population decreased and extreme weather conditions. In this essay, global warming will be discussed and the cause and effects of it, as well as to what we can do to help prevent it. Ultimately, a conclusion will be raised answering the focus question, “Will global warming be the end of the human race?” First Section: Global Warming and its Causes
