Annotated Bibliography: How Climate Change Is Affecting Our Planet Controversy statement: Climate change is been debated for over centuries now. People all around the world are taking action and reducing burning fossils to minimize the gasses in the atmosphere. Many people believe that climate change doesn't exists. But there are a lot of controversial topics that proves that climate change is real. In my opinion, climate change is slowly killing us and destroying our planet.
The first attempt and success to climb Mt. Everest occured in 1953. Since then, almost 4,000 people have been able to scale the mountain, but over 230 people have not been able to climb it successfully. There is a chance of accident or death when climbing this mountain or any dangerous activity. All people should should have the right to rescue services even if they knowingly put themselves at risk because there is always a chance of an accident happening, rangers are there to save people in danger, and there are rescue vehicles being produced to be used in case of an emergency.
In addition, the effects of the ocean becoming warmer harms not only the marine animals but also terrestrial animals, including us. The ocean is vital to our survival and to the many other animals that share our planet. The majority of our planet is covered with water, the ocean “provides at least half of the earth’s oxygen and the volume of water regulates temperature and drives weather systems” (“The Sant Ocean Hall”). The ocean’s healthy ecosystems provide us with many abundance of daily materials that we need to survive. They provide us with “food, fuel, fiber, fodder, medicines, and energy” (Dixon).
Earth’s climate has been changing over the last few decades, with the global temperatures rising at a high rate (Corell, 2006). Some of these climate changes are due to natural causes, although the strength at which temperatures are rising indicates human influences, such as increased carbon dioxide emission, as well as other greenhouse gases. Climate change particularly affects the Arctic region, where warmer temperatures are causing decrease in sea ice extent and thickness, permafrost thawing, coastal erosion, changes in ice sheets and shelves, and consequently, changes in the distribution and reproduction rates of Arctic species (Corell, 2006). Warmer temperatures have led to increased melting of glaciers and sea ice, and shortening of
All of the greenhouse gases contribute to the atmosphere trapping heat and warming the earth and warming the Earth has many effects. The earth being warmed, meaning from North Pole to South Pole, melts ice in the poles. The melting of the ice causes sea levels to rise and the effect of that is flooding and lost habitat for animals. Increase in temperature makes some of population of plant and animal species go down. Increase in temperature also affects the weather.
Greenhouse Gases are types of gases that take heat escaping from the atmosphere and send it back to Earth. According to NASA, the Earth’s average temperature would be approximately 0 degrees Fahrenheit—as opposed to today’s average 60 degrees Fahrenheit—without the naturally occurring Greenhouse Gases. This is because of the Greenhouse Effect. Gases like Carbon Dioxide and Methane are able to take heat and emit it back towards the Earth, thus giving them the name “Greenhouse Gas” (“What are greenhouse gases?”). The heat given from these gases can last for hundreds of years, making it sometimes unpredictable as it spreads around the world.
The Problem: Global warming is influencing several parts of the planet. Global warming makes the ocean rise, what’s more the point when the ocean rises; the water covers numerous low territory islands. This may be a huge issue for many of the plants, animals and for the people living around the islands. Furthermore that water covers the plants and causes some of them to even die. The point is that when they die, those animals lose a source of food, alongside their habitat.
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
Therefore forcing manufacturers to create more things in factories using different chemical that usually result as deadly compounds in gaseous state in the atmosphere. Also, greenhouse gasses emitted by different countries are contributing a lot to climate change, for example, The United States alone produces 24,800 kg of greenhouse gasses, and Bangladesh produces 400 kg annually, yet, it’s suffers mainly because of its lack of initiatives taken. So, the in return the ozone layer is affected by the gasses. Sunlight, when it hits the surface, is either absorbed by the land and atmosphere or is reflected back into space. If, in case it’s absorbed, then some of the energy, in the form of heat is released back into the atmosphere.
These gases retain heat on earth thus increasing the temperature above average. Different gases have dissimilar abilities to trap heat. Deforestation is also another important reason for global warming. Plants release oxygen and take in carbon, thus providing us a clean and healthy environment. But by deforesting the lands, the trees would emit the carbon stored in them from hundreds of years making the air impure.
1. Introduction: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the important green house gases (GHGs) emitted in the atmosphere through various human and natural activities. The human activities include rapid industrialization and urbanization, deforestation, excessive use of fertilizers in agriculture, excessive use of fuels, papers and many other manmade resources whereas natural activities include volcano eruption, forest fires, earthquakes etc. Emission of GHGs in the atmosphere leads to global warming which is one of the primary reasons behind the atmospheric changes that affect the human life directly or indirectly. The consequences of global warming are extremely harsh seasons, untimely rains, extended summers and floods that results in human deaths, destruction of flora and fauna in addition to the huge economical losses.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
Nowadays, climate change is the biggest concern for the world issue that each country need to find the solution and take action to address that issue. Because climate change causes health problems, so health care is also a big problem, big concern for everyone as well. I. Climate change Climate change pose a serious, immediate and global threat to human health and responsibility for taking action to address this threat rests with every person, every community, every leader and every government around the world. That's because global crisis need global response.

The Impacts of Climate Change on Species This paper seeks to research the study of climate change and its effects on biodiversity. This will be done by first understanding what climate change is and what the different effects are. Once this is understood, it will be easier to apply this knowledge to the study of biodiversity and how species are affected. Real life examples of different species that are affected will be mentioned and explained. Climate change is a reoccurring issue in our world that has been observed and studied extensively.
