Tuesday April 20, 1999 was the day many students and teachers died in Columbine High School. One teacher in particular stood out to the victims and their families: Dave Sanders. Coach Sanders chose not to be a bystander while students needed his help all around him. He circuitously crossed the hallways of the school saving any students he could, while assuaging them and any fears or worries they had. Coach Sanders saved many students, but coach, father, husband, brother, and mentor Dave Sanders was found dead bleeding out in Science Room 3. At the epitome of his actions was good and love. He did what he had to do to save the students he dearly loved. Although evil can take over the good in people causing vile actions, good can overcome that evil and sometimes it can even be a more enthralling force. The Perfect Sacrifice forever defeated evil by his good, and gracious love. Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Captain America, Hulk – our millenniums hero’s who defeat evil with good on a daily basis to help the society. Kids everywhere look up to those heroes, picturing themselves to be just like them one day. They see themselves doing good to the society and beating evil. In the movie Les Misérables, Jean Valjean started out in prison for nineteen years because he stole a piece of bread. Once he got out of prison, he could not find a job until a bishop took him in and showed him amnesty, even though Jean stole from the bishop. Jean grew up striving to live a better life and do good to other people. He changed from doing evil to helping others such as Fantine and Cosette. Deep down everyone has good in them, but it's the choice to use it; the choice to benefit our society and our world rather than harm
