In James Lincoln Collier’s, “Anxiety: Challenge by Another Name”, Collier explains that the anxiety people go through is just another challenge keeping us from doing what makes us happy. He believes anxiety can get bad enough to the point where it can become a challenge for someone to have a positive personal development. Personally, I agree with Collier’s view because anxiety can stop you from doing what you make you happy but they are challenges that help you build a stronger personal development once they are overcome. Typically, when someone has anxiety they may fall in a state of depression. Instead of living miserably, avoiding what made you anxious and depressed can help you improve your way of living and help you become a better person

Many people in their childhood wanted to be a fireman, policeman or an athlete, but is the dream you really want at the end of the day. When I was two or three years old I did what everyone else did, go to a birthday party at the firehouse then your favorite characters from a show comes out with a fireman, or on Christmas night the fire trucks drive to my street and give out candy canes to everyone, but when I grew older I knew I had to go to college and then get a job, and grow up from the past events in my life. “What do you want to do when you become older?” That is a question many of us were asked when we were extremely young. As we grew up we continued to be asked the same question whether it was by a family member or a friend. The bold among us likely conjured up occupations a far cry from the typical nine-to-five grind; only to learn later in life that job opportunities like being a veterinarian would be hard to come by. At first, I thought that question would have been a lot easier to answer, until I had to start preparing for my college applications.
Growing up, I never thought I would be pursuing a career in the medical field. I can remember stages of my childhood where I wanted to be a teacher, a horseback rider, and even The President. The turning point for me was The Running Dream. I read this book when I was a freshman in high school, and it was so good that I realized what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: work with prosthetics. The book The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen is about a high school track and field prodigy, who lived and breathed to run.
In the future I want to be successful not only for myself, but also for my parents and friends to be proud of me. I want to end up being successful with an amazing career, and not end up struggling without the ability
Video Game Designer v.s. Writer Ever since I was a kid I’ve had a great imagination and loved to write. However as a high school freshman I’ve started thinking very hard about what I want to do for the rest of my life since my school years are coming to an end.
Motivation is a key factor in any success. Many people do not know exactly what they want to pursue as a professional career going into college, and many will end up majoring in something that they decide they do not like. A goal to become a veterinarian since childhood illustrates my dedication and determination to this career. From an early age, I have learned the value of commitment and dedication. I have been a swimmer for ten

Eventually, I realized I wanted to be as passionate about my career as my mother was in her role as a school counselor. On the other hand, I was certain that I was not going to be a school counselor like my mother because
I never really knew what field or job I should go into to help people the way I wanted to. I wanted to change their lives like a celebrity changes people’s lives by being a role model for them. Obviously, I knew that I had a slim chance of becoming famous. In eighth grade, I was given a project to map out a future job. I decided to research some jobs, and I found a doctor.
When asked what they want to be when they grow up, most children say astronaut, doctor, president, or veterinarian. I was one of those kids that replied “a veterinarian” when asked by others. Usually, when one gets older, that career goal changes into something different, but not for me. I did not know it then, but my dream of being a veterinarian would stick with me throughout my life, and influence the choices I make in order to reach that long-term goal. I come from a family that expresses an interminable love for animals.
