As the picture shows above, I’m a musician. This picture shows the satisfaction of the hard work that has gone into months of learning/perfecting new music then putting the music and myself in front of people and trying to communicate what the music means to me. Unfortunately, this picture is incapable of showing just how deeply I love music. I believe that everybody has a hard time presenting who they really are/how they think to other people, but for a brief moment of time, writing/performing a new piece will let people see more about someone than words could ever show. Being able to effectively communicate through this method not only enriches the life of the musician, it can enriches the life of his/her peers and the community around the musician. This is the very reason why I have chosen to study Music Education in my undergraduate degree. My family currently resides in Belmont, Mississippi, which is where I graduated high school. After my time there, I spent time studying at Northeast Mississippi Community College (Booneville, MS) and William Carey University (Hattiesburg, MS) before finally arriving at Delta State University.
