This was a common buzzing sound in my ear ever since my high school career began at Roncalli. The pressure is always on to demonstrate greatness. Going to such a prestigious high school can seem very intimidating to outsiders, but those who are part of the family view it as a secure place to worship and use their talents. When reviewing my Roncalli rebel timeline, what sticks out to me most obtains the characteristics of scholarship and servant. It is no doubt that being a scholar is one of my most focused aspects in my education. Being a scholar is defined as, “a distinguished academic,” and I would view myself just as that. I throw myself into my studies, because school has never come easy to me. Motivation to be academically successful as everyone else has always driven me. I refuse to let my failures or difficulties stop me from trying and pushing forward. I have changed in many ways while attending Roncalli in ways that I am so grateful for. Yes, service hours may seem tedious and annoying, but when I am finished doing service for someone, my heart is never filled with more joy. My whole life I have loved to serve others and care for others, so being a servant of God has always come easily to me. Going to a public school for some time made it harder to do service, because of no religious backbone, but when I am at Roncalli, it comes easy and it truly makes me happy.
