Being raised by first generation immigrant parents who did not have college Education, I have learned to exhibit myself in a fashion that shows the good qualities of my family, background, and character. As the oldest child, good disposition is required of me because my two younger siblings look up to me and expect excellence in all I do. I put my best foot forward in everything I attempt to do no matter what the task is.
I was not very serious with my academic work when I was younger but as I grow older I have continued to improve academically. M y goal is academic excellence which is one of Howard University’s core values. I will achieve this through preservice, not given up on my ambitions, dedication to my work, respect for myself and the people around me and obedience to the rules and regulations of Hoard University and the great city of Washington D.C. …show more content…

My siblings look up to me and I am always a source of knowledge whenever they need any advice or help. At my school I serve as the President of the National English Honor Society which involves holding meetings and discussions about how to raise awareness of literature around the school. I am the Treasury of the Environmental Club which involves counting the money the club may raise and making sure it gets too the person in charge of the club bank account. I was a member of the Principal’s Advisory group in which I help the principal make decisions concerning the school. I will bring this knowledge of leadership to Howard University by joining clubs like Alpha Nu Omega and Student Government which promote academic excellence around the school.
