It’s always exciting to see the ripple effect between what each member takes in and, in turn, gives back to her campus and community. We love learning about Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ initiatives that are intended to develop and inspire the next generation of leaders. We are ready to do the work to help prepare your students for a lifetime of courageous leadership. Developing stronger individuals is a key component of our membership experience. In order to affect the bigger campus picture, each individual must be a contributing member of a team — starting with her own chapter.
Welcome to the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Montana State University! It has been an exceptionally significant year for our College. Maybe a standout amongst the most noteworthy days in the life of our school was set apart by the amazing opening of Jabs Hall on May seventh, 2015. As the new home for our school, Jabs Hall epitomizes a large portion of the qualities that give our establishment to what's to come. It is obviously a standout amongst the most open, welcoming, and joint effort amicable structures on grounds.
My desire to help students in Mississippi stems from my personal experience as a student in Mississippi College. Through volunteering as a member of the Balancing The Deficit and engaging faculty and students who are native to the area, I had many interactions with Mississippians and saw the genuine kindness in them. Through those interactions, I learned to appreciate their hospitality and down-to-earth attitude. My affection toward people in Mississippi grew tremendously while in school, and I decided to serve the community after I graduate. I want to serve the community as a peer educator so that I can help teenagers in Mississippi develop good studying habits and help them find purpose and, more importantly, success in their studying
Looking on the Pike High School website, I noticed you had a position open for a High School English teacher, and I am intreated in applying. I am a fourth-year student at Indiana University who is majoring in Secondary Education with a focus in English and a licenses addition for Teaching English Language Learners. I will be licensed in Secondary English Education and Teaching English Language Learners this coming Spring. Pike’s dedication to diversity and addressing learners across the spectrum is essential for any school district and has made me enthusiastic about applying to your school. By bringing my experience with diversity, English Langue Learners, and low SES students, I would make a valuable member to your school.
When I think about why I want to attend Montclair State University, I think about all the new experiences and the ability to further my education in the business field while also learning more about myself in the process. I’ve gone through many ups and downs in my life, and I know more change is needed for success. While also being a first-generation college student, there is a lot of pressure around the idea of being the first to go to college as well as my parents hopes that I will create a better life for myself, which is what they worked so hard for when coming to America. This constantly caused me to feel anxious due to the pressure of meeting these expectations, as well as not knowing whether or not I wanted to take this path right out
Amidst my teaching experience and courses in higher education I have cultivated myself to become an advocate for students by fostering a student-centered approach and active learning in the classroom, as well as becoming an advocate for social justice. An effective leader is not only likeable and inspiring, but also gives their attention to the needs of others and is willing to listen to their concerns. I find this is also the case as I counsel students and parents about financial aid. I have the financial advising skills and business minded orientation that is important for the success of the college, but also recognize that our stakeholders are real people that need personal connections.
Why University of Dallas I love chemistry and mathematics. I am intrigued by nature of materials and how materials interact ad react in different environments and using these characteristics and mathematics to finding solutions to problems. These subjects interest me the most because knowing the nature of materials gives you an opportunity to find new uses of it and even create new materials that can serve to improve our lives. My goal is to develop a concrete understanding of chemistry field to the degree that I can work as a researcher in the medical or pharmaceutical industry and use knowledge, skills and experience to come up with findings and even solutions to problems and thus improve our lives.
Growing up, I was never afraid of being myself. I have a very large family, so I knew how to socialize very well at a young age. Socializing is a huge part of who I am, and it’s a part of my life I will always enjoy. I love meeting new people, because people always differ from one another. I respect the diversity of someone’s culture and background.
Being an immigrant and first generation college student, I took the time to think about what I want. My counselor recommended SCU because of the high quality of the education. SCU is a very competitive college in California. I was looking for the school that offer good engineering major, a comfortable learning environment, and location; SCU provide what I need. Because San Jose is close to my home in Seattle, I can continue to help to family.
Serving as the student advisor for the 56th President’s Leadership Class has given me a chance to express my passion of developing others. At the same time I have been able to instill the value of loving what you do. I never thought, however, that I could turn this passion into a career. While working in the Student Affairs department at The University of Oklahoma, I have been able to simultaneously observe the adults who work in the office. The employees in OU’s Student Affairs department live out my passions day in and day out.
The last two years have been an incredible experience for me. Personally, the feeling of achieving my dream of becoming a Longhorn and being part of the institution I admire the most is exhilarating. First of all, my understanding of the overall interaction between finance, marketing, sales, and operations gives me a wider perspective of what we are trying to achieve as a company. As a result, I know which information is important to harvest, compile, and disseminate in order to provide quality data to our decision makers. With this, our Latin American market now has better business analytics, and we are able to allocate resources more efficiently than ever before.
Ever since I started my journey to higher education it has been a dream of mine to study abroad. Studying Humanities has exacerbated this desire by opening my eyes to the importance of culture appreciation. It has also shown me, through textbooks, the greatness that Europe has to offer. Its rich history and rich culture have made it number one on my list of travel destinations. Even working two jobs, I can hardly afford to pay for an education, housing, and amenities.
It is at the urging of my undergraduate advisor—and Harvard alum—Bethany Nelson that I am submitting this application to you. It is her belief, and mine as well, that my academic record and career goals are a perfect match for the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and more specifically, the Specialized Program. I know that you will agree. In 1999, I was valedictorian of my class at Avon High School.
I believe that a university should bring out the best in all students as well as challenge them to reach their full potential. A university that helps it students achieve a strong foundation for their future is a distinct quality that I look for. Baylor is a prestigious university that not only embodies all the qualities a university should have but goes above and beyond to care for their students and help them achieve high levels of accomplishments. For all those reason and more, I want to attend Baylor University to further my education. Baylor is known for its strong sense of community, faith, and service.
I found it interesting that all of our unique paths ended up bringing us together at UNC Chapel Hill. During the leadership lense presentations, I found myself relating to the other scholars on such a deep level, going beyond similar academic interests into the characteristics of the struggles we went through growing up. These presentations allowed me to realize two things about my fellow classmates, the first being that I really don’t know my fellow scholars or anyone else at UNC like I think I do. We all come from such diverse backgrounds that differ from each others’ in countless ways, so I came to the realization that it is never safe to assume anything about one another. The second realization I came to know after watching enough of these presentations is that though we all come from a variety of backgrounds, the scholars are all just as identical in their ambition and drive to get to where they are now: students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel
