At church, I was beehive and mia maid first counselor and the pianist in the primary. In the musicals I was a lead dancer. I am a member of the National Honor Society. I volunteered to teach children music lessons after school as part of a mentor
I began participating in band in 5th grade and throughout the years I have discovered that music is something that I truly enjoy. I originally decided to continue on with band during high school just for fun, unaware on how much of an impact it would have on my life. Through band, I have met some of my best friends and I have experienced once in a lifetime opportunities like performing at Walt Disney World, during a parade. Over the past four years I have drastically improved my musical ability and my leadership skills. Most importantly I have learned the value of a job well done.

I realized that the only way I could achieve the results I desired was to work harder, so I focused more energy into my schoolwork and it paid off. I continued to play the flute all through high school, and participating in marching band had an equally important impact on my life. Through marching band, I learned the importance of time management. Rehearsals every day after school, Friday night football games, and Saturday competitions that lasted all day greatly cut the amount of free time I had. In fact, the majority of my free time seemed to disappear, until I started working on my time management skills.
I’m at home on the high school parking lot. It’s the only space the administration grudgingly affords our marching band, and yet it’s ours. The band family lives and thrives off people supporting each other, we are there for each other when no one else is. I was elected by this family to be their band president last spring, and I have been completely changed. Despite the flashy title, I am still just one member of this 140 strong group, and I am still pushing to fulfill the responsibility placed on my shoulders.

Music is something that has always been an important part of my life. Whenever I am feeling a certain way, music helps me express my feelings and process them. Because I am a vocal musician, music weaves its way into almost all aspects of my life. I started singing and dancing at a very young age and fell in love! I don’t think I’ve stopped singing since!
2. How and when did you decide to enter teaching? Well I always played music as a kids, as you know, to help me cope in my everyday life. It was always such a huge part of who I was so it just seemed natural to want to share that. It was in high school that I really decided I wanted to teach.
Knowing how to sing is a blessing that may come naturally to some people, but to others it requires practice and effort to learn how to properly develop this gift. Having seen many live performances and having a dad who could sing was an inspiration for me to develop such a talent. Music has always been my passion, and I knew that singing would give me another exciting opportunity to enjoy the feeling performance creates. I did not have a natural voice from a young age so learning to sing was challenging and pushed me beyond my orchestral limits--emotionally and physically--but with the strong desire I had and the toil I was willing to endure when learning this art, I persevered to becoming a singer.
I have been playing piano since I was around 5 and I still believe I can make a career out of it, I have all the requirements to become a teacher so I believe this dream can easily become reality. Music isn 't something that anyone in my family actually pursued as a career but it is something that everyone loves so my parents agree that I should pursue simply because they love music and so do I, I don 't believe there is a specific age in which I should put my dream aside because even if it doesn 't become my main career or job, I will still always be able to make it a hobby rather
To what extent is the literary devices shown in Persepolis increase the impact of the novel and show the culture of Iran in the 1970s? In the novel Persepolis by Majane Satrapi, she tells the story of her life living in Iran in the 1970s. In this novel she discusses the atrocities committed by both sides of the bloody Iranian revolution and how both sides truly were. In the novel, Satrapi uses several literary devices to enhance the meaning of the novel to a much greater degree than directly telling the reader. Still, these literary devices also allow the reader to peer into the very culture of Iran in the novel and how certain objects can mean certain things both from within the culture and the context of the novel.
At a young age, I constantly wanted to express myself through music. I always found a way to incorporate music into my daily life, whether it be by blasting my favorite music, creating my own funky songs, or even having the opportunity to participate in my elementary school choir. My love for music actually took flight after I had decided to join my elementary school choir, however, in my opinion, it is not the most transformative moment in my life. After elementary
I have learned how to read musical pieces, how to play different piano-like instruments, and how to better organize my thoughts and critical thinking. I am a sophomore in high school and have been for a while now. That makes the experience of me being in band a time period of one to two years. Band has changed me for the better, whether it be me learning how to navigate myself through life or music, it has been there for me for a long time now. Without band and music, I do not know who I would be.
