The Life of Music
In the warm California night, I sit listening to the band. Tapping my finger to the rhythm of the drums and humming along to the melodic sound of my grandfather’s voice singing Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, I watch as my grandparents’ friends dance, sing, and laugh together celebrating their friend's birthday. This unveils how they express their joy of the music and love for each other. I peacefully sway in my chair as if I am one of the many blades of grass swaying in the gentle breeze, inviting in the blissful harmony of the instruments as the band moves on to the next song in their set.

I believe that music is powerful in uniting our people together. I have met so many new people through a mutual passion for music that I never would have had the opportunity to meet if I did not have a driving passion for music. Even when I am not meeting people because of music, it is still a topic that I can connect with people on no matter how great or how little exposure and passion they have for it.
Each of these elements are imperative to the production of music and life. Without music my life would be meaningless. My passion thrives in this form of art and expression. What would life be like if we did not have the pulsation of rhythm to influence us, or a simplistic melody to engage us playfully into a land of exploration that can be further indulged when we mix it with harmony to give us a sensational journey into our mind? Earth would be dull without art; music may be the most open interpretive form out there and we have the freedom to indulge in this enthralling joy. The gift of music will be cherished
