The Netflix original documentary, 13TH directed by Ava DuVernay explores the racial inequality in the United States throughout history. The documentary focuses mainly on the fact that most of the nation's prisons are unfairly filled with African Americans and colored people. The documentary educates the audience of the horrors the African Americans and colored people went through history and today beginning with slavery, to convict leasing, to Jim Crow Laws, and lastly to present mass incarceration. Ava deeply examines the economic history of slavery and Civil War racist legislation and practices that replaced it as "systems of racial control" and the present forced labor from the years after slavery was abolished. The powerful film 13TH represents
I’m trying to develop a show right now, but even if nothing comes of it, I feel it is important to do it. I love acting on television and being a piece of clay for directors to mold. Right now, I don’t really have any aspirations to become a director, but who can say? I love every aspect of the industry, and I wouldn’t ever say no to directing if the opportunity arises. This is just the greatest industry in the world.
During my high school career I have made a consistent effort to stay involved in both my school and community. Through clubs such as Key Club, National Art Honor Society, and National Honor Society I’ve been able to help out locally and globally in an abundance of ways. In Key club and NHS I am able to volunteer in traditional ways, but National Arts Honors Society allows me to contribute to my community and school in a creative way that stimulates people 's minds through art. Due to these activities having a significant impact on my life my future career options are based around what I have learned from them.
Growing up, I have always had Closed captions on my TV, my friends and family became familiar with closed captions through me. Closed captions convey all spoken content as well as sound effect such as a door opening or foot steps. Written words run across the screen that have been set at the same time they are being spoken. Captioning is important so that deaf and hard of hearing individuals can enjoy and understand dialogue in movies and tv shows just as hearing people do.

The third aspect of the video that I studied was the camera angles, this aspect is significant because its shows up what we are meant to be looking at and focusing on. Evidence of this aspect is how the whole music video apart from one important bit is filmed only as a mid-shot. The camera angle of mid-shot helps to represent the hurt the girl is put through, through this shot we are able to see and feel every single emotion that she portrays through her facial expressions. By using a mid-shot the camera is so close to her face that while watching the video that only thing you have to look at is the girl, this gives a clear idea about what is important and the main focal point. Since her eyes are showing so much emotion we are not only looking into her eyes but her soul which I mentioned earlier, we are linked
Depict me; a full-time CSR, Mother, and wife. I have always wanted to go back to college, even after I dropped out, in 2010. I have always aspired to be a Network and Technology Manager. My dreams has been put on the back burner because of my priorities. Now, my priorities have changed, so now I can finish what I have started.
In life I value success, balance, freedom, resilience and my well-being. These values will influence my career because, when choosing a career, it is important to have values. People who choose careers that are aligned with beliefs and values are more likely to find contentment and success in their
In this technological age, use of machines and systems is rapidly replacing more traditional means. Take for instance, computer generated imagery, otherwise known as CGI (insert cited definition here). Computer generated imagery is prevalent in a vast amount of the visuals we humans are exposed to, regardless of whether we realize it or not. It has had such a tremendous impact on different industries, such as design, manufacturing, entertainment, business and education. Under the category of entertainment, an example of use of computer generated imagery is that of its use in the video production industry, which includes film, television, music videos and visual advertisements.
When looking at films you have to look at every aspect of the film. When it comes to most people they will watch the film and not notice little details such as framing and editing. Now being an editor my self, this is one issue that bothers me with casual viewership of movies or any other types of film. Thats when they think the editing was just done and that it takes not effort and people think that the clips are just put together. I can safely say that this is 200% false and that being an editor takes a ton of thought and process going into how a clip is placed, how much time before cutting it or anything along those lines.
To begin my reflection of my of my journey as an English major here at the department I should first say that any work I completed in my freshman and sophomore year will not be included as I do not have access to them. I have chosen to use pieces that were written in my film studies course and Native American Studies. There are four pieces total that will be looked into three of the four will be pieces will be work from my two film studies courses Film Theory and Criticism and Japanese Film Directors, the remaining one piece as stated above will be from Native American Studies. Initially when signing up for the course in Film Theory and Criticism, I did not know what to expect as we all know how to watch a film, summarize it, and give an
TRIPODSSIBILITIES FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY Taking photographs and making videos have been simplified with the other accessories such as smart phones, these accessories come with top range pixels and resolutions that allow you to take quality pictures and videos, however, when it comes to professional photography and videography, nothing can be compared to a good professional camera. The 3D Animation production pipeline of the typical animated video or movie is usually divided into three key stages: Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production. Whether it is a big blockbuster movie or a 30-second film, the process is always similar. It starts with the Pre-Production process. Pre-Production
Documentary filmmakers strive to capture the real in their documentary films – a convention used by both fiction and non-fiction films to immerse their audiences into the issue. There are a few common methods used by filmmakers to capture the real, all stemming from Dziga Vertov’s theory of Kino Pravda, which explores the idea of truth in films. Realism is important to filmmaking as it helps question the relation of a film to reality. More often than not, our disbelief are suspended the moment we are exposed to a documentary, and we believe what we see much more easily than when watching, say, a movie or television program. A documentary’s main concern is to present a film taken from reality, and to show that reality to audiences as closely as possible.
Movie Definition Movies, also known as films, are a type of visual communication which use moving pictures and sound to tell stories or inform (help people to learn). People in every part of the world watch movies as a type of entertainment, a way to have fun. For some people, fun movies can mean movies that make them laugh, while for others it can mean movies that make them cry, or feel afraid. Most movies are made so that they can be shown on big screens at cinemas or movie theatres. After movies are shown on movie screens for a period of time (ranging from a few weeks to several months), movies are shown on pay television or cable television, and sold or rented on DVD disks or videocassette tapes, so that people can watch the movies at home.
