The third aspect of the video that I studied was the camera angles, this aspect is significant because its shows up what we are meant to be looking at and focusing on. Evidence of this aspect is how the whole music video apart from one important bit is filmed only as a mid-shot. The camera angle of mid-shot helps to represent the hurt the girl is put through, through this shot we are able to see and feel every single emotion that she portrays through her facial expressions. By using a mid-shot the camera is so close to her face that while watching the video that only thing you have to look at is the girl, this gives a clear idea about what is important and the main focal point. This also enables us to relate to how she is feeling, with not her problems she has, but our own. This aspect relates to other aspects in the video as the camera angles (mid-shot) is directly related to the lighting as it helps to create our own visual world inside of the music video. This is because it all we see and know within they video, we see that that is all she has to her world and the black and white becomes a simple metaphor that, that’s all there will be in the world, white and black, good vs. evil. To me this is the main idea as the world we are put into is purely just the balance between good and evil, and that, that’s all there is to the world, or the world that she lives in. It is a representation of her life and that it is just a constant battle between good and evil, love and hate.
