Throughout many centuries, architects have argued about whether the rational or the sensory designs were the correct way to design a building. The rational architects did buildings with an order. They used shapes to create their buildings. They created buildings reflecting Ancient Greek and Rome. On the other hand, sensory architects designed visually attractive buildings.These buildings reflected back to the middle ages. I believe that the Colorado State Capitol Building is beautiful because of the way it shows the values of a rational architect. The architects who designed this building created a sense of beauty by making all it’s parts communicate and by its symmetry. In picture three you can see how the architect designed this building constructed with a lot of different sizes of rectangles. You can take a close up look at picture four where the windows make a rectangle and every two vertical windows make a bigger rectangle. Another example is In the middle you can see how the columns make a triangle. Another shape that we see in this building is a triangle. In picture three you can see that the biggest triangle is centered in the middle. In this same picture, you see two smaller triangles. In this picture, you can see how the two different directions of staircases forms a triangle. The last shape I saw in this building were the different forms of circles. In picture three you can see a circle inside the triangle. You can also see this shape at the top of the building where there are two half circles. From these three shapes, you can see how the Colorado State Capitol building was a create example of rational beauty, causing us to look at this building through an apprehensive
