Josiah, the next king to rule the kingdom of Judah, ascended to the throne in 640 BC. He is best remembered for his return to the laws of God, in contrast to his immediate predecessors. In 622 BC, while reconstruction was under way on the temple, a priest by the name of Hilkiah, found a book on which Josiah was to found his system. This book was the last book written by Moses, the fifth Book of Moses, the Deuternonomy. While the book itself is written in a similar style to other books known to have been written by Paul, and some of the same principles and themes are repeated in Colossians, there are some notable discrepancies that lead many to question its authorship. If Paul were to have written the book, he would not have yet actually visited the city. In addition, Paul had an extremely close relationship with Philemon, yet he was not mentioned anywhere in Colossians. There are others reasons as well, which when all combined lead to the claim that Paul did not actually write the

Even though this book contains controversial thoughts about the Bible, this form does not need to be completed; on behalf of the necessity for
Gerhard the Greek and Monica the Emoter are both right in what they believe and should not discredit the other’s belief. Gerhard believes that understanding the past and what the original language is saying will help us understand what the authors meant to say and how they meant it to be interpreted. While, Monica believes that it can dull the scriptures and make us focused on other things that is not the “true message of God’s Word.” Both views, Gerhard and his historical view and Monica and her read and respond view. This ties back to the opening quote I reference from “Rescuing Jesus”. Justin Lee a gay student at Boila University, comes from a fundamentalist understanding that the Bible is the inherent word of God. Yet, just as Rob Bell began to discern, when upon further study, Justin discovers that if we are to take the new covenant that Jesus Christ provides to heart, than we are by no means to be judge and jury on someone’s existence let alone sexual orientation. “With these standards in mind, it became much easier to interpret Scripture’s difficult passages consistently”.
Thus, his authorship be- comes important for attributing divine authority to Torah. It also lays the foundation for the belief that the Pentateuch contained one unified mes- sage because it had one divinely inspired author. Mosaic authorship of the Pentateuch was assumed in Jewish Hel- lenistic, Rabbinic, and early Christian writings. Philo, a Hellenistic Jew- ish author writing in the first century of the common era, provides an ex- ample. He writes in his commentary on creation, "Moses says . . .

The books were written by his follwers but they contained all of his teaching from when he was alive. I’m am interested in the fact as to why the book was written so long after Moses was alive. The scholars believe that the Torah was written in the 14th century and Moses was alive in the 5th century. Hundreds of
The KJV has been a respected translation for centuries. When Tyndale decided to make a translation even the plow boys could read, he made one of the first moves towards Christianity that is based on Scripture alone. His version aided England in eventually throwing off the hold of the Pope and his Church. The belief in the authority of Scripture and the responsibility of the Christian to search it out that Baptist Christians espouse today was initiated by William Tyndale's audacious translation work that would eventually cost him his life. Tyndale's translation is one of the most important occasions in both literary and Christian

The bible is what helps keeps our faith alive as it contains a rich amount of history that tells us of God’s revelation and the ways how our faith works. Although the bible contains numerous works of different people, it is still a work of God that helps our faith remain constant and grow, as everything written was under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
