He used some important speech skills, but forgot about others and used a few bad habits. Nixon attempted to keep his speech positive while following an outline, but some of it did not work very well. He began by addressing his colleagues, guests and fellow americans which worked well because then everyone feels included.
For my speaker and speech analysis assignment, I chose JFK’s inaugural address speech. I chose this speech because I think he has an interesting story and with this speech, he inspired a great amount of optimism and patriotism in America. It is often considered one of our country’s most important speeches. In my analysis, I will be focusing on JFKs background, and many aspects of his speech including his delivery, organizational, persuasive and rhetorical techniques.
Introduction: The book No Country for Old Men written by Cormac McCarthy is full of drug dealers, gangs,and a psychopathic killer. This book definitely does not lack in the action department. No Country for Old men is a book that follows Llewellyn Moss, Sheriff Ed Tom Bell,and Anton Chigurh as well as a few others. The book starts out with Llewelyn Moss hunting in the desert as he tracks his prey he comes across a convoy of vehicles parked out in the middle of nowhere through his telescope.
He had amassed a collection of government fills, tape records, and intelligence on the common people in the Watergate building. After it was broken into, files were stolen and released to the public. It was the first real time that the general public learned just how paranoid Nixon was, but also how much he wanted to keep the power he already had. As these precious documents surfaced, one could see in full light that Nixon exhibited all the symptoms of Paranoid Personality Disorder. He was always distrustful of people, he recorded every encounter he had, so that one could twist his words against him.
Nevertheless, Nixon managed to return to politics even after such a major scandal and establish himself as an author, analyst and commentator. President Clinton even acknowledged Nixon’s “wise counsel” on foreign policy. Nixon remained as a politician who would use any methods he could to be competitive and advance his career (Wicker). Surprisingly, it has been noted by many scholars that the public has become desensitized to Watergate. In a report released by a Democratic and Republican pollster, “only 18 percent of Americans surveyed believed that Watergate was worse than other scandals of the last quarter-century” (Polman).

12 Angry Men, although produced in the late fifties still offers a great slate for any viewer. The special effects and quality can easily be guessed by the black and white silhouettes of the film. The intensifying conflict of this film easily overshadows the lacking up to date criteria expected from a film. Many viewers expect a well-developed plot and characters with an accompanying use of special effects and coherent scenes. This courthouse drama has assigned twelve men to juror duty which will make this murder case mystifying by involving the viewers in the underlying theme of prejudice in the film.
