Identify a Macro issue that has surfaced as a result of your Organization and Community Profile Assignments. There has not been a Macro issue that has surfaced as a result of my profile assignment. But there is an issue that plagues this community and that is a disparity in education, there should be Literacy Program in place. There is a lack of leadership and resource development that keeps this facility stagnate. Does the issue fall within your Agency’s Mission and Values? Describe. They need to possess the necessary skills to provide for themselves and then their families. My theory is not “give them a fish, but teach them how to fish.” The agency wants to see their clients succeed, most of the staff is in recovery so they know that it can be achieved. But some have been in recovery over 25 years and perhaps have lost touch with the community needs. Create an outreach program for educational development. Why? Clients do not read or write at a basic education level. (b) Identify critical Actors Counselors, Legislatures all are members that usually want to help others seek improvement and knows the value of a solid education. (c) Identify Facilitating Actors. Budgeting and Finance, Board of Directors, Community Leaders, these leaders support programs that empowers an individual. (d) Identify Potential Allies. Describe the driving forces for change. Macro-level advocacy agencies, Social Services, Legislative advocacy. To implement educational classes/skill training classes to empower the client and make them self-reliant, also to eliminate drug abuse. (e) Describe restraining forces for change.
