From this talk, I realized that I have been taking a wise decision in every aspect of my life except in the field of community service. I have never given myself much in community service. This shows that there is a lack of awareness about community service among people especially among students. So I volunteer myself in St. Paul’s Day Training Centre (DTC). My friends and I work as group to contribute 20 hours in the training centre. We create awareness among UTAR students by distributing brochures about to this centre. By taking part in community service, adolescents are introduced to good values and morals. Values such as humility, gratefulness, honesty, sincerity and respect are among the important virtues that one can get from helping the residential district. The importance of community service eventually relies on how the provider perceives it. The more hours people spend doing community work, the more the service will help them in recognizing their educational, social and developmental goals. When doing my community service, I applied all the lessons and skills I learnt during the talk. During the lecture, we learnt how to examine our past and make smart decisions for the hereafter. We used our experience with the students on the first day and make decisions on what activities should be organized according to their abilities.
