Having higher level technology can help develop our state of living like our economy; but what happens when the world gets too obsessed with the idea of advancing technology? In the short story “A Sound of Thunder”, Ray Bradbury explains a un-familiar story in the year 2055, when a time traveler offers a hunter a chance to go back in time to the prehistoric to hunt animals, but the trip soon turns into a big catastrophe. Additionally, in the short story “There Will Come Soft Rains”, Ray Bradbury tells a modernized story about a lone, machinery house that is left standing while a nuclear bomb has demolished California. Eckels decided to visit Time Safari Inc.. A place that can take hunters to prehistoric time. The hunter warns Eckecls of what could happen “how something so small could change the future” (pg # 11), if they were to make a mistake. This takes a turn for the worst when Eckecls accidentally steps on a butterfly. Due to the mistake, the election was reversed and Deustcher won. Eckels can’t undo what complex technology and time have caused him. Instead “Travis shifts his rifle, clicks the safety catch, and raise(ed) the weapon. “,ending his life because of upgraded technology. “There Will Come Soft Rains”, tells a more modernized but historic story about a house that is located in Allendale California. After a nuclear bomb has hit their town “The house stood alone in a city of rubble and ashes”(pg # 1). Except, this isn’t like any other house, this house is operated by mechanical machines, or robots.They control, automate everything in the house, leaving them in a constant loop.
