In book Philip was humming to The National Anthem. Even though, Philip was supposed to be quiet, he still has a right to represent his country that he lives in. Similar to one of the court cases , The Tinker Standard, three other students wore black armbands to protest against the Vietnam War, similar to Philip, they both have the right of freedom of speech to do so. When Philip was buzzing to The National Anthem, no other students were distracted by that at all, like The Tinker Standard. Another example, was on page 174, when Philip said, “It’s a free country.”
If one thinks jails in modern-day U.S. society are bad, then he /she should consider exploring the detention facilities of other societies. Societies such as the one in Anthem (written by Ayn Rand) had a detention facility called the Palace of Corrective Detention which had horrible conditions compared to modern American jails. In the modern-day U.S. society people have more freedoms and liberties compared to Anthem 's society. After a close examination of Anthem, it is noticeably clear that the U.S. society is more progressive than the society in Anthem, which is glaringly obvious by contrasting modern-day U.S. jail with the Palace of Corrective Detention in Anthem.
According to the website dictionary.com a Dystopia can be defined as, “a society characterized by human misery, as squalor, oppression, disease, and overcrowding” (Random House). Throughout the world there are thousands upon thousands of dystopian novels. People all around the world are attracted to these types of novels, especially modern day teenagers. These teens are attracted to them because they can easily relate to the novel itself and the characters in the novel. Teens can relate to these books easily because they often feel oppressed and overcrowded.
Our national government has not always dad this much influence over matters concerning this country. Under the Articles of Confederation, power for the national government was vastly limited compared to the current central government today. The people who wrote the Articles where worried about a strong central government that would oppress them like the King did. In turn they came up with the Articles of Confederation which gave greater power to the states instead of the national government. Under the Us Constitution the central government know has more power than it did under the Articles of Confederation to stabilize the United States.
A controversial topic currently circulating throughout the media and society, is professional athletes kneeling during the National Anthem. In my opinion, this is a completely useless, unnecessary action done just for attention. The theory behind the action is supposed to represent unity. Unity is not achieved by causing controversy, but it’s achieved by coming together and supporting each other when times get tough.
How could losing individuality affect a society? The novel Anthem by Ayn Rand is about a guy named Equality 7-2521 who is trying to find himself in a society where everything is controlled and different. Later, he finds himself even though he will have to go through many obstacles to get there. The process behind losing individuality in an Anthem’s society are in forcing strict laws, brain washing of their citizens, and removing of family. The Anthem society in forcing of strict laws made it easy for everyone to lose their individuality.
In the book Anthem the societies work together and work as a unit to get everything done, compared to our society where we work as individuals and do things by ourselves. For insistence in Anthem there are multiple groups such as street sweepers or the scholars all of them have someone in charge and they make all the calls. Unlike in our society where we make calls for ourselves like when we go to bed and where we want go and spend our nights and what jobs we want to have. Some ways our societies differs are at the age of 15 all the boys are assigned to a task for the remainder of his life.
The United States is known for being a respectful and prideful country in the world. In the Pledge of Allegiance, it truly marks what it means to be independent. On July 4th, every year we recognize the Declaration of Independence that was signed in the year of 1776 for the ability to be ourselves. However, in the book Anthem, by Ayn Rand, she recognizes the importance of equality, meaning that every person is forced to act the same way and no one is above or below another person. They use the motto “we are one in all and all in one.
Anthem Imagine living in a world where you have no control over who you are, or who you wanna be with. Being an individual is better because you get more control, more relationships with people, and less trouble. Now let 's move on to the reasons why each would be better as an individual. As an individual you will be able to have control of who you are and who you friends are, Just like in real life we get to have control over who we are and who we wanna hang out with.
Moral Assessment of Anthem In Ayn Rand’s novel, Anthem, Equality lives in a communist society that believes everyone must work for and be exactly like one another. For much of the novel, he believes what the Council of Vocations tells him, despite his intelligence and independence. By the end of the book, he realizes that the idea that everyone is the same and must work for each other is flawed. He deserves to live his own life and enjoy himself.
The founding fathers were smart men who the world looked up to because of their smart decisions, actions, that directed the U.S. to what it is today. But sadly in today’s society most people either have forgotten the things they did for us, or they just do not care. The founding fathers were great men who led this country to victory in war and on the political front. And often early U.S. history is portrayed as moving smoothly for the colonies turning into the a country of its own , but in reality it was just the opposite. George Washington our first president had problems figuring out ways to control the new nation as it progressed under his leadership.

In The Declaration of Independence there is one quote that's quite famous in today"s society "All men are created equal", this message is still being used in today's society and in the society of the novel Anthem. But in Anthem equality is used differently, equality is taken more seriously.

"I Hear America Singing" is in a very cheerful and joyous situation but "I, Too" is quite the opposite, despite this, there still are some similarities between how the characters feel.
