Julia de Burgos’ poem, Ay, Ay, Ay of the Kinky- Haired Negress frames her poem by adopting an individual persona “I” which allows her to speak with legitimacy on the self. However, some might argue that she also universalized the poem to include the black exploited slaves to create identity for everyone. The poem not only redefines the role of a black woman but it also redefines the foreign and obscure issues in identity. Ay, ay, ay, that am kinky-haired and pure black kinks in my hair, Kafir in my lips; and my flat nose Mozambiques.
In the NFL the guys have two goals, get paid and don’t get hurt, that’s it. The NFL players don’t care as much as the college players about winning because the NFL pays them millions of dollars to play. College athletes, however, aren’t getting paid which means they’re playing for their school pride. Also in college making the playoffs is much more difficult because if you have more than two losses you most likely won’t make it into contention. You have to win your conference, and if you lose a game it has to be against a team better than you or just as good.

These athletes miss class and school days very often due to away games. This means having to spend time trying to catch up on the material that was presented in class and the work that needed to be done.
As a matter of fact, players are virtually full-time employees for their colleges. “College athletes are mass-audience performers and need to be rewarded as such…players spend 40 hours per week on their sports… [and] are essentially working full-time football jobs while going to school.” (Text 2, lines 5, 10, 15) Therefore, unlike other students who may attend the same university/college, student athletes are required to put more effort into what they do, ensuring their best performance on the field while maintaining their grades for school. There are some seasons where school becomes a second priority, and the players would practice hours on end to put on an exciting game.

When it comes to football and soccer one is definitely more physical than the other while in football the main point is to viciously collide into each other to prevent an opponent's play or to try to make a play but all football players are equipped with the gear to take the hits while soccer players have no gear but shin pads and some goalkeepers wear protective head bands but that is very uncommon.
