My final is about the difference between the book and the movie “The Outsiders.” This next paragraph is about the description difference between the book and movie. Then the paragraph after that will be about the description of the background or cars that the characters drive or live in. I think that the move and the book where basted of the same story but I think that when the directors made the movie with some different cars or house that can change the movie or they put different things in it so that the movie will look better. Altogether the movie and the book were pretty good and had good meaning to it about want to think of life and it’s alright to not be tough and hard.
The story, A Sound of Thunder, by Ray Bradbury was an amazing short novel in which was well received by many. But, in early 2000’s there was a movie adaptation of the short novel written by Ray Bradbury. The movie was directed by Peter Hyams, and many questioned what similarities were between the movie and the short novel. In the movie, many things were taken out and changed from the short story. But, at the same time, many things were the same as the story.
The book Fahrenheit 451 was turned into a movie which included many similarities and differences from the book. The biggest difference was Clarisse in general because she was a teacher instead of a student, she never died when it was said she did, and her overall character was a little off due to these simple changes. There was also no war in the movie, which made it so that there was no bombing at the end so the city wasn’t destroyed. Faber also wasn’t in the movie, although he was a major character in the book because of his influence over Montag. While there were many differences there were also similarities, but they were mostly small details.
The outsiders is a book/movie it is about these two groups of people that our very different they are called greasers and Socs. The Outsiders is mainly about the greasers but a specific group of young people. The greasers our always getting in trouble with the Socs. The greasers our called greasers because they put a lot of grease in their hair to make it look good. Socs our called Socs because their the more social group and they just use Socs for short/a nickname.
There are many movies and books that have tons of similarities and differences. I choosed A Series of Unfortunate Events, because of the nail biting moments that are in the book and movie. Plus, and you just want to know what happened. They both have many differences, but not many similarities. Some of the differences are very big changes and might make you like the other one more.
It is often believed that pictures speak louder than words. However, when comparing a book to a movie, this quote is totally not applicable. The purpose of creating a movie from a book is mainly to bring the characters to life and make the story more relatable. Fantasies, especially, are unrealistic and hence a movie makes the fantasy come to life. The Princess Bride was originally a book which was then filmed as a movie to recreate the story.
A drastic choice is whether or not to stab someone in the eye with a butter knife. In the book Divergent by Veronica Roth, someone was stabbed in the eye. In the movie based off the book, this scene wasn’t even shown. There are some differences between the book and the movie. Stabbing someone in the eye with a butter knife was just one of the many changes made.
Battle to the Death: Cinema Vs. Novel Some of the best movies are based on books. One movie based on a book is The Hunger Games. While the movie is entertaining, it is very different from the book.
"Just follow me like your life depends on it. Because it does. "(Dashner 361) In where a boy named Thomas finds himself in a maze with several other boys and no memory of how he got there or his past.
Stephen King, a famous writer once said, “Books and movies are like apples and oranges. They are both fruit, but they taste completely different.” Truly, this applies to all movies and books. This quote is effective describing the novel and the movie, A Raisin in the Sun. Although the two share similar scenes and acts, the movie shows a lot more details which make it better.
When comparing a story to a film, there are three ways that they can be translated. These translations can be a literal translation, traditional translation or radical translation. The literal translation can be defined as, "reproduces the plot and all its attending details as closely as possible to the letter of the book" (Cahir, 16). The traditional translation can be defined as, " maintains the overall traits of the book (its plot, setting, and stylistic conversations) but revamps details in those particular ways that the filmmakers see necessary and fitting" (Cahir, 16-17). A radical translation can be defined as one, "which reshapes the book in extreme revolutionary ways both as a means of interpreting the literature and of making the
In all movie adaptations, there must be some change to make it function like a movie. This is evident when discussing the play, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and its 1958 counterpart of the same name. Both are similar in terms of plot, characters, and setting. Despite this, some key plot points were changed when the movie was made that differ from the play. These points change the storyline dramatically.
The Notebook The well known romantic story, “The Notebook,” written by the novelist, Nicholas Sparks, portrays two people falling in love during the 1940s. The book was written in 1996 and the movie was released in 2004. Nicholas Sparks was inspired by a real life couple and that is why the movie is so realistic. The main characters Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton are played by popular young actors, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Though the book and movie are based on the same love story, they have many differences, some minor and some major.
Books vs. Movies The constant battle between watching a movie and reading a book has lead to many disagreements. Many valid arguments can be made in favor of each as well as each having it’s own disadvantages, yet the question still remains unanswered. Books and movies have many similarities and differences when it comes to experience, development, and imagery. To begin, there are a variety of reasons that make movies not as good as books. The experience, the depth, and the imagery are the three main aspects one needs in order to understand why movies are not as good as books.
