Contrast between Chile and USA
During my whole life I’ve been back and forth, living between Chile and USA. I’ve lived in both countries for almost the same amount of years each. I think if I hadn’t lived here when I was smaller, I would feel a big cultural shock.
Geographically Chile is very extensive and in length, we have a great variety of climates and landforms. We can take the bus from the middle of a region and in 1hour be either at the mountains full of snow or at the sea. Up north we have the dessert, it hardly ever rains and it’s considered the driest dessert in the world. In the middle part we have the best climate ever because it’s mild most of the time. The population is divided into groups of races, so they keep the traditions of their origin. The predominant races are White, African American, Hispanic/Latino, and Asians. The economic society has a better balance, they still have poverty but the middle class is the prevailing one. The education is totally reachable in this country, apart there’s so much variety of careers that we are in the top of worlds different researches.
USA’s Culture has probably the biggest variety in the world because of its immigrants. Most important festivals celebrated by most Americans are 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. USA is known for its comfort foods, they are eaten everywhere in the states, the traditional meal is the one ate in thanksgiving dinner, it’s a type of buffet with turkey, marsh potatoes, corn, more types of meat, vegetables, all types of casseroles, cakes, etc. Religion is a very important part of America, the predominant is Christianity so there are lots of traditions that are based on it, like going to church on Sundays.
I think Chile and USA have great things to offer in different ways, I think a mixture between both would be a utopia because I would have the best of both worlds. I love and have great memories of my childhood in both, but for me my heart will always remain in my
