The Han Dynasty and the Roman Empire. The Han dynasty Empire and the Roman empire stood large and mighty at the start of the Common Era, with the two kingdoms controlling an unprecedented mass amount of populations under their reign. Both kingdoms rose as predecessors from previous political systems that extended lands under one rule, with the Roman Republic expansion in Europe after the Punic wars and the Qin state achieving conquest over six other nearby states creating the first imperial China in east Asia. The heavy hand of the Qin dynasty and the assassination of Rome’s beloved general, Julius Caesar, by the Roman senate, threw both kingdoms into rebellion, ushering in centuries of imperialistic rule for both in their respective timelines.
In the Dynastic cycle, the Tang and the Qing Dynasties of ancient China showed similar periods of Prosperity. One way they were similar were they both cared about the dame that was caused by the previous Emperor. Typically the Emperors during the period of decline forget about keeping the important structures such as the great wall or the trading canals up to date. This time both the Tang and Qing Dynasties put money towards repairing both those things. Another way both these Dynasties are similar is they both encourage trade.

Before the Han Dynasty rose, the Qin Dynasty, which overtaxed their citizens and regulated their laws by censoring education (burning books). The Roman Empire started out as a city-state which began to conquer neighboring regions, such as Italy, and expanded through warfare. However, from 300 BCE to 300 CE, the Han Dynasty and Roman Empire both created order in society by having an agrarian economy, ideologies, and establishing an authority that shaped social structures. The empires of the classical era have many similar characteristics, but they also had many defining qualities. For example, Imperial Rome (31 B.C.E.-476 C.E.) and Han China (206 B.C.E-220 C.E.) have utilized their methods of political control in various ways. These two empires had similar methods of political control concerning defense. Other methods of political control were different in the sense of how they conducted their society within the empires. Methods of political control in imperial rome and Han China were similar in the sense that both empire defense systems were weak and fragmented which later led to the collapse of central governments.
The two dynasties, the Ming and the Han were both excellent during their period of Prosperity. The two dynasties excelled when it came towards better government education and a whole lot more. I will first give you an example on the Han dynasty, After their previous ruler costed multiple lives of the Han a man named Liu Bang won and he became the new ruler of China and the Han dynasty's first emperor. The Han had helped established a new political system, which basically meant the government administrators took control of states instead of giving the power to a individual ruler. The Han also followed the ideas of Confucianism by believing that their ruler was a father over them and they should not be lead by force.
The Qin and Han employed different philosophies on how to run their dynasties. The Qin used controlling Legalistic ideas while the Han used the relationship building Confucianism. The Qin and Han had a different relationship with outsiders because the Qin preferred to keep foreigners out while the Han wanted to build a relationship with them. The Qin and the Han each contributed to the growth of China’s culture and expansion. The developments in trade, foreign relations, and building expansive building projects in the Qin and Han Dynasties effected the design of every dynasty
Both the Roman Empire and Han Dynasty appeared in the era of classical societies. During this time, societies began to become tightly centralized and ideas of new religions and technology were able to spread easier due to the expanding development of new communication forms and passages like the Silk Roads. With the new forms of communication, it is easy to understand why the development of new technology was appearing in these two societies. However, the Han dynasty was more readily open to these new ideas of technology and the development of new technologies such as paper and iron were upheld by the government, while the Roman more readily focused their attention on philosophy and law during their Pax Romana.
Although they follow the same beliefs of Confucianism, they have many differences in their period of prosperity. First, let’s talk about the Song dynasty. The amount of new and add-on inventions the Song dynasty had created was amazing. For example, they invented, glow in the dark paint, fireworks, grenades, gunpowder, and ideas about how to prevent diseases. The invention of the gunpowder actually gave the Song Dynasty an advantage because they were able to use cannons, flamethrowers, landmines, and grenades.
They both lasted close to 300 years each. With strong leadership and strategic land being conquered, they were able to last a long time with power. The Chinese development of technological advances, allowed the era of the Tang, and the Song dynasty to bring about a social, political, and urban change. The Chinese found new techniques in Agriculture and farming rice. This allowed for more growth and spreading of population in the regions. As the population grew, people were interest in new jobs and careers in the markets. So, they sought out jobs such as shop sellers, blacksmiths, metallurgy, fishing, and government work.
Both of these dynasties are very similar, especially the fact that both were culturally rich and known to be “Golden Ages” in Chinese history. Both of these dynasties saw many advances in technology, with the invention of the compass and paper. Trade with other countries was a major occurrence during both the Han and Song Dynasty. Another factor that connects these two dynasties is the fact that they both use a common written language for those who were educated. The examination taken in order to receive a government position that was started during the Han Dynasty was also used during the Song Dynasty, so that people born into class were not automatically given government positions, but those who were intellectual and capable to hold a position were given the opportunity.
The Roman, Chinese and Indian empire are the three main empires that exist in the past and inspired the rest of the empires that came afterwards. The Roman empire used trade and government to get where it was. The Chinese empire used legalism and a strong army. The Indian empire used religion to be successful. An empire consists of many different features, but there are some specific key features that makes an empire a strong and powerful empire and it usually consist of a strong military, effective leader, religion, trade and a lot more different features.
Both empires were advanced ,and both invented things that contributed to the way society works today. The great empire of the Ming Dynasty in China can be observed when it rose during the 17th century.
