We were the first people to reach the moon, we invented the internet, and we were the first people to ever go airborne thanks to the Wright brothers in 1903.
There have been a lot of groundbreaking moments in world history, 2 of those moments that I will be speaking of today will be of Charles Lindbergh and Christopher Columbus crossing the Atlantic Ocean. These are these are two completely different men and what they did were two …show more content…

Both of these men achieve something great being the first men to sail and fly over the Atlantic Ocean. There were many challenges to be face for both of these men Charles Lindbergh was flying a thousand miles through snow and sleet for 33 hours. Christopher Columbus sailed 3 ships across the Atlantic from August 3rd 1492 to September 6. Even with a 400 year gap between these two accomplishment both men face similar dangers. Weather is always going to be a problem when it comes to traveling. And at the time Christopher Columbus was in a little wooden boat and Charles Lindbergh was in a scrappy little plane. Both of these modes of could be chewed up and spit out by the Atlantic Ocean in just a second. Luckily both these men made it safely to their destination. One humorous challenge that Charles Lindbergh faced was where do I use the bathroom, his airplane chair was made of wicker with a hole cut into it and then there was a funnel below. I don't feel as if Christopher Columbus had this problem being on a
