The recalling of the event from a Jewish scholar also solidified this. On the way to Jerusalem, they murdered thousands of Jewish people in the name of the
1. The key issue in this case is the well-being of Elijah. In the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW) s.9(1) states that “the safety, welfare and wellbeing of the child/young person are paramount.” This law is relevant to this case as clearly there are clearly some issues between Sophie and her son which is affecting the child.

The genre of this novel is historical fiction. I would consider this novel historical fiction because it happened in the past but is not nonfiction. The novel describes real life situations that could very possibly happened in that time period. If this story would have been nonfiction it most likely been a biography about Elijah. Another reason on why I think this is historical fiction is because when I picked this novel we could only pick a historical fiction novel.
The ordeal by fire was a way to prove the innocence of someone accused of committing a crime. In the ordeal the accused person is required to carry a boiling hot iron bar across a distance of 9 of your feet (depending on how big your foot size is). Next, the person’s hand is bandaged and is left for 3 days. After the 3 days the priest will come to look at the burnt area and if it is heal you are innocent and if it is not healed you are guilty. If you are guilty, you are imminently killed / executed.
“The Lesson”: Talking about Democracy and Justice The core idea of the short story is about demonstrating the polar life of two races: the African-American community and the white “nobility” that revels in money while the former cannot afford to have a decent life. People from disenfranchised locales can have varying understandings of the situation that they are in. Tenably worse is resigning about the immutability this situation, however dismal or dejected it is. Even actually existing social inequalities can thus be seen as an evident reality if seen from a certain perspective.
E-commerce is the only trillion dollar market in existence that is projected to grow over twenty percent this year and continue to increase at double-digit rates (Mulder). At the same time, 51% of millennials say the information found on a retailer’s website have more impact on their purchase decisions than personal recommendations (Sullivan). This is not to say that brick-and-mortar stores are a dying breed; rather, they must incorporate an omnichannel strategy in order to appeal to today’s well-informed customer. The beauty of omnichannel retailing is that it combines the universal access of online sales with the personal connection of an in-store experience. Based on the article “Competing in the Age of Omnichannel Retailing”, I believe the best executed omnichannel strategies include highlighting product information across channels, curating personalized content for users, establishing loyalty programs, and utilizing data and analytics to its fullest potential.
Throughout time, people have had to go through hardships, or face adversity. How they handle that adversity is a great measure of their character. Some people give up and lose when faced with a little bit of difficulty. Others, however, use the adversity to motivate them to become a better person who uplifts others under a common cause. In the “Underground Railroad”, by Colson Whitehead, Elijah Lander is a person who stands strong in the face of adversity, motivating others to push through it with him to become stronger.
