Comparison Immigration Essay The French immigrants were a very interesting and diverse group of immigrants. The French immigrants began immigrating to America due to the establishment of New France, which lead to discrimination among political and religious views and also due to the famine that France was facing. When the French people came to America they faced many struggles. They had to learn to speak and understand the English language. They had trouble trying to find jobs. This was different for Americans because the American people looked up to the French as role models and highly admired them. The French immigrants had many impacts on us that are still with us today. They gave us the statue of liberty, which today is still an everlasting symbol of the long friendship between the American and French people. The French and American people have always been allies and friends, and they have impacted our society in a strong way. Another interesting group of immigrants were the Russian immigrants. The African Americans were actually forced to immigrate to America due to the transatlantic slave trade and also the internal slave trade. The African Americans faced many hardships when they first arrived in America, the biggest one probably being slavery. With all the African American immigrants moving into America, this lead to America becoming a big mess of African nationalities. Like most immigrants, African Americans brought their religious beliefs and teachings with them. They had to learn to understand the English language a little more and learn how to get along with the Americans.
