Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, both of these people have something in common. They were all excellent leaders in history, people who had a dream and followed through with it and made a difference in our lives and American history as we know it. Frederick Douglass: Frederick Douglass was a well-known abolitionist around 1845. Mostly known from his first autobiography “Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave”, But he never started out as a well-known abolitionist. He started out as a slave working for the Hugh’s family. His mistress showed him how to write and read. He succeeded in escaping and while on the street furthered his education. When he was about twelve he found and read the book "The Columbian Orator."
