Nat Turner: Nat Turner led a rebellion to free slaves and was known as the slave Preacher. He led a band of slaves with weapons such as axes and guns. He killed 60 white men, women, and children. This blood mass murder led to the execution of 100 blacks. Turner was in hiding but was found and executed on November 11, 1831.
Nat Turner and John Brown are both noted, as being symbols of American reform. Leaders of abolitionist groups, who went on a killing spree believing they were given “extraordinary powers from above” and were executed for their strong beliefs of anti-slavery. Their gruesome murders could easily attract followers and spark interest in others to write their biographies. John Brown and Nat turner both came from strong religious backgrounds.
Mark Twain and Frederick Douglass both have interesting ways of writing. There are similarities and differences in their writing. They each have their own personal preference toward their style, tone, and perspective. Each story was a remembrance of boyhood written in first person. As evident, Twain’s story takes place as a boy in a town on the Mississippi River.

Even though they are considered hard workers, they both have different obstacles and different views in their lifestyle. Fredrick Douglas used to be a slave who was a fugitive and Benjamin Franklin was young white man who had a rough time with his parent because his parents are very abusive to him. The Significance of Harriet Tubman and Harriet Beecher Stowe’s involvement in the Underground Railroad (as part of the Abolitionist Movement, 1850-1860) The Underground Railroad is not what it may appear in its most literal sense; it is in fact a symbolical term for the two hundred year long struggle to break free from slavery in the U.S. It encompasses every slave who tried to escape and every free person who helped them to do so. The origins of the railroad are hidden in obscurity yet eventually it expanded into one of the earliest Civil Rights movements in the US.

Turner killed more than 60 whites including women and children during the rebellion. Nat Turner believed he was chosen by god, and Harriet believed in god but did not think she was chosen. On the other hand Nat had no siblings and his father is unknown while Harriet had eight and her father was Ben Ross. All in all, both Nat turner and Harriet Tubman besides them both being slaves had many differences and similarities that affected many people good and badly.
HARRIET TUBMAN Early Life Harriet Tubman was a slave in the west. She didn’t know when she was born. At the age of six she started slavery. The line between freedom and slavery was hazy for Tubman and her family. Harriet Tubman’s father, Ben was freed from slavery at the age of 45, stipulated in the will of a previous owner.
