Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth both spoke up about slavery because it was a harsh and cruel thing like they experienced. They both had experienced what it was like being a slave and how it was a cruel system. Douglass had learned the A, B, C’s and he was able to help other slaves escape slavery. Sojourner Truth had learned how to speak brilliantly and it impacted others about slavery. This can be seen in Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass.
