The time period during the 18th century had many influential people that changed American history. However, the three people known to be George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Abigail Adams made remarkable changes that would be remembered even till today. George Washington's presidency created traditions and established precedents that would be carried out through our government today and the presidents, also Benjamin Franklin would be a dominant figure to the colonies as well as Abigail Adams who would strive for women's rights. During George Washington’s administration, he set our nation on a path that has withstanded for over two hundred years, and lasted longer than any other republic in history.
The precedents that Washington set were the greatest of all, but the best examples he mentioned were critical to America. Washington was the first president of the United States. He had served two terms, and warned future presidents not to run for a third term. He believed it would make citizens believe that the government is in power; but truly, the states and people are in control. Based on George Washington’s observations, he warned the people to stay united, stay neutral, and follow the constitution, in order to keep the U.S. stable.
The president I pick was John Quincy Adams. He was the first president that was a son of the former president John Adams. For his early career he was a defending lawyer. Latter, he served one term of vice president under Monroe and when he got into president office he appointed Henry Clay as Secretary of State. As president he urged America to be the leading country in Arts and Science while trying to get freedom for blacks.
Despite the differences between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the author does a good job demonstrating how the two candidates will be admired in the history of America. Jefferson was reelected, again over Adams and others, in 1804. The two men did not talk again ever since. They do become friends when Adams made the move to write a sorry letter to Thomas, on January 1st 1812, wishing him many more years to come. Adams' last words before he died was, "Jefferson still lives!"

These presidents helped shape America into what it is today. Without their problems during their presidencies and then solving them, no one knows where America would be. For example, why did President Madison go to war, in 1812, unlike all of the previous and future presidents. Washington wanted to stay neutral during his presidency, so he completely avoided war with foreign countries.
When comparing Sam Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams, we can see that there are some similarities and differences between the men. Perhaps the most notable relation this group has, is that they were all formal presidents and had some type of power or ownership. The qualities of all four men are often seen as opposed to each other. One similarity for example, with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson was that they were prosperous Virginian plantation owners and held slaves. Jefferson and Adams were both well educated people and knew about the law.
When the year of 1807 came around, the way that America elected a president changed. In previous elections, only the rich men were able to vote which as a result whoever promised more the wealth was elected for president. When the common man was able to vote in 1807, the type of candidate to win the election change. As seen in the election of 1828 the person who was more relatable to the people, won because the common man was able to vote and so they used that opportunity and elected whoever they thought was going to help them. Overall the people preferred Jackson over Adams because Jackson was able to relate to the people better, and because he was a symbol of the American dream.
The first three men to be president built the foundations of America that made it into the country we see today. George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson were the beginning of a great country built with hope, freedom, life, and liberty. Our first three presidents were essential to the making of this country. Washington, Adams, and Jefferson’s backgrounds, political views, and accomplishments, though different, lead to the making of a successful government and country. While Washington and Jefferson were born in Virginia, John Adams was born in Massachusetts.

Washington made the Whiskey Tax in 1791 which caused a rebellion called the “Whiskey Rebellion”, and Washington lead 13,000 troops to extinguish the riot. John Adams made the Alien and Sedition Act which made it longer for people to become citizen and made it illegal to criticize the government which was against the 1st amendment. Both presidents showed the people of America that they are superior. the Washington and Adams both showed other countries that America is not to be messed with.

Washington wanted to be done, and go back to his hometown Mt.Vernon in Virginia. During his first few years of presidency, President George Washington faced many difficulties mainly because of the different political parties, national debt, and other foreign alliances. Even Though he faced many problems he was still very successful in the end who started the government off to be strong, and secure.
John Adams Everybody knows who the first president of the United States was, but what about the second? John Adams was many important things, such as the first vice president of the United States, a Founding Father, and the second president of the United States. He also went on many missions to Europe. John Adams is still important to our nation today, though he is often overlooked. His early life led him to accomplish many things and become the second president of the United States.
John Adams, of who was born on October 30, 1735, in Massachusetts was the oldest of three siblings. When Adams was just 16 he received a scholarship to Harvard University, he grew up to go on to Harvard law school, he graduated in 1755 at 20 years old and start teaching in a school for several years. He later in 1758 became a lawyer and later in his career as a lawyer became the most prominent attorneys in Boston. Adam chased after renown, not material wealth. He never cared about making a fortune or, even though he earned a handsome living.
The United States Second President John Adams was born on October 30 1735. When Adams was growing up he had a young and productive life, Adams would help farm on his family farm in Braintree, and would play with the towns children around him. Later Adams would move on to college where he learned that he was going to be a great public speaker, and not a minister, as his Deacon John wanted Adams to be. Adams would go on to become a well-known lawyer in Boston. There Adams would have one of the most important case of his career.
The founding fathers were smart men who the world looked up to because of their smart decisions, actions, that directed the U.S. to what it is today. But sadly in today’s society most people either have forgotten the things they did for us, or they just do not care. The founding fathers were great men who led this country to victory in war and on the political front. And often early U.S. history is portrayed as moving smoothly for the colonies turning into the a country of its own , but in reality it was just the opposite. George Washington our first president had problems figuring out ways to control the new nation as it progressed under his leadership.
The greatest president that has ever served the United States is George Washington. He was not only the first president of the United States but also the commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was victorious over the British and quickly became a hero doing so. He helped draft the constitution and with his leadership and courage. As first president, he become a role model for every other present succeeding him and helped create our countries values that we cherish so much today.
