In my life, I have worked in both Healthcare and Childcare, there are similarities and differences in both fields. In all jobs you are more than likely to deal with human being, and caring for people who are in need of help and learning processes and steps. There are growth in both of these fields either it ranging from infants all the way from someone who is a geriatric.
When it comes to the similarities between the healthcare field and the childcare field I have had to learn that they both come with a lot of patience and dedication. In healthcare there is also childcare in the Neonatal Intensive care Unit to where it involves infants rather than teenagers ranging from geriatrics. The main goal in healthcare is to get the patients better and to be able to make it home with out any infections. Nursing has adopted and rejected several models of care in the last century in an effort to find better approach to providing care that would represent and improvement for both the nurse and the patient (Beatrice 2023).
When working in healthcare you have plenty of different places to work in such as a hospital, nursing home, assisted living, rehabilitation centers and adult day care centers (Cortez 2020).
The Main point in the healthcare setting is to make a goal for you and the patient for recovery purposes. In Healthcare you elaborate with many different kinds of people with many different diagnoses and ages. In healthcare there is a big difference in pay between childcare.

In this setting you are training them how to walk write and learn alphabets and count numbers. You have to dedicated have patience to teach a child how to use the bathroom, and do daily ADLS like in nursing. You have to change a child when they use the bathroom in their diaper. You can go in depth as such as teaching them what having fun is and having manners. It is basically like raising a child of your own.
When you are caring for a child you have to make sure you feed the child in a timely manner and provide food. Meaning that children tend to get sick very easy you can try your best to prevent infection spreading to other children. There are particular certifications such as CPR and first aid just incase there is an emergency. The pay is different as well it is not like a nursing job where you tend to get paid way more.
When working with a child in the healthcare it is different as well because you have to pay more attention because the human is way smaller and the organs are smaller as well. There is a specific unit for infants and children in a hospital. Children require more than an adult depending on the diagnosis. Usually this unit is called the Neo natal unit.
