Some developed literate societies with metal tools and innovative farming societies, while others developed illiterate hunting-gathering societies with improvised rock tools. But why has society advanced at such unlike proportions? This question, also known as Yali’s question, is the main focus of the book Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond.

“The Importance of the Neolithic Revolution” is an article written by William Howells that focuses in on what the Neolithic Revolution was like all over the world. Also the definition of single site theory zeros in on what the Neolithic Revolution was like in one place. These two theories contradict and oppose each other. One theory of the Neolithic Revolution was single site theory.
Egypt, Mesopotamia, Shang/Zhou dynasties/China, and the Indus Valley are all different ancient river valley civilizations. All have different aspects of civilizations. Some aspects of civilization include technology, writing/language, specialized jobs, government, etc. These decisions were made based on the climate and biome the civilization was located in. These things needed to be taken into account because certain aspects of civilization were not suitable for every civilization.
Compare and Contrast the Native American Culture Introduction The Native Americans were the original owners of the United States of America. However, due to the population increase in Europe, the European migrated to America in seek of land for farming, settlement, and spread their religion (Desai, n.p). The two communities lived together and interacted with each other.
NATIVE AMERICAN SOCIETIES: 1. Both civilizations were made up of bloodthirsty savages. A difference between the two is that the Mesoamericans were cannibals and the Mississippians buried their dead in mounds. 2. They lived in agricultural societies so if it was too hot or cold or they did not get enough rain fall, then their crops could not grow.
The early civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, and the Americas that thrived near the year 3500 BCE, were known as the river valley civilizations. These civilizations were mainly patriarchal societies, due to the rise of agriculture; therefore, their political positions were held by upper-class males, and their domestic responsibilities were held by women. Due to trade, their cultures, religions, and technology were fairly similar. Mesopotamia and Egypt both contributed to modern technology with the Egyptian pyramids, and Mesopotamian arithmetic, but they differ in their location which lead them to have a different views of the afterlife.
Ever since the emergence of mankind, humans have always prioritized their search for food and water. Even today the need for sustenance is still prominent; however, methods for producing it have evolved over time. The Paleolithic people went about scavenging, hunting, fishing, and gathering on their quest for food. The Neolithic Revolution marked a transition from such practices into the “cultivations of crops and the domestication of animals.” (Strayer, pg.12) Even after thousands of years, although techniques have changed, the basic concept of agricultural cultivation has still remained similar.
Throughout time civilizations have risen and collapsed. Some were conquered while others simply disappeared. The Egyptian civilization thrived near the Nile River from 3000 B.C. and was later conquered by the Persian Empire around 525 B.C. In the other hand, the Mayan civilization developed in Yucatan Peninsula around 200 B.C., and mysterious disappeared around 900 A.D. However, these two cultures share many factors in common such as developing calendars and building pyramids. Even though civilizations developed in different time periods, they can still have many factors in common such as environment, language, and architecture.
Neolithic Revolution: The Anasazi Civilizations formed over a vast period of time and encountered many technological changes which pushed progress forward. Of those changes, perhaps the Neolithic revolution was one of the most significant in progressing civilization in the direction to become modern societies. The Neolithic revolution was a wide-scale change in cultural lifestyles from hunting and gathering for sustainment of life, to a settling and farming way of life. This change involved the domestication of both plants and animals, the settlement of land areas, and the need to protect the land and the assets on the land, thus creating a future justification for organized warfare. The three earliest civilization had many different features, some alike and some different. They all have controls of massive empires. Different languages were spoken and different way of life, religious way, and ways they provide to their people. The similarities of al 3 civilization are that they had an emperor or ruler on top of that pyramid. Their gods were the most important to them.
The monuments presented represent the differences between Paleolithic peoples and Neolithic peoples. The main factor between the two cultures is a difference in climate, which influenced technology, social complexity and lifestyle in general. The people of the Upper Paleolithic lived in harsh environments during the Ice Age. They were nomadic hunter/gatherer groups of about 20 - small groups who moved with the animals they relied on and gathered what they could along the way. Everything these groups did was practical, functional or symbolically important.
There were many similarities and differences between the Paleolithic and Neolithic age. The Paleolithic age, also known as the stone age, is known to have the earliest humans, who were nomadic. They were hunters and gatherers who used basic tools and fire to survive. The Neolithic revolution started in the Middle East near areas with fertile soil in about 10,000 BCE. Most early civilizations were river based.
Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States once stated that “cultivators of the earth are the most valuable citizens” (Jefferson), which was fitting for his era, considering that 90% of the American population were farmers. The tradition of agricultural societies stretches back to the Neolithic Revolution, around 11,000 years ago (Diamond 64), where people started to domesticate plants and animals. During this period, humans started to transition from a hunter-gatherer society, where small groups would rely solely on hunting wild game and gathering wild plants, to a settled society. Hunter-gatherers migrated with the herds of game and the seasons. It was only until the Neolithic Revolution when people started to settle down
The Neolithic Revolution brought grand improvement and innovative development through technology. The Neolithic revolution occurred around 10,000 BC to 8,000BC. Agriculture was the main component that was affected during this time. This meant improvement for tools and making the agriculture process less complex, which helped develop the tools we have today. A refinement in agriculture had begun.
