Rosco and Sherlock: A Breed All Their Own I have two crazy cats, Rosco and Sherlock. Sometimes I joke about getting a kitten, but the cats I have couldn’t make me happier. Rosco is Sherlock’s mother; however, they do not have a lot in common. While some may say ‘like mother like daughter’, Rosco and Sherlock are examples that this is not always the case.
Rosco and Sherlock are different in their overall personalities, but a few things about them are similar. They are obviously both cats. They are older cats, although Rosco is the oldest. My older brother believes that the vet gave her too much gas when he knocked her out for the surgery, and it might have damaged the brain. Sherlock can hardly meow; if you hear anything at all, most of the time it sounds like a whisper. She also has a vomiting problem. She eats well, but she gets sick more often than cats should. And it is not just a hairball that she is throwing up, it is normally half-digested food. Sherlock also does not dedicate the proper amount of effort and time into cleaning herself. She is content to sit on the porch all day and do absolutely nothing. Sometimes, she will sit at our front door and look inside. She particularly likes watching the television. Sherlock’s coat is black with white on her belly, chest, paws, chin, and nose, and she has bright golden eyes (See fig. 2). Sherlock is a lovable cat that is always craving attention.
Rosco and Sherlock have different personalities, ages, hobbies, and health issues. It is these quirks, however, that make them so cute (besides the health issues). Sometimes these cats are opposites; it is a good thing that opposites attract because I would not want a cat fight on my hands. I could never begin to choose a favorite. They are unique in their own way, and I love everything about both of
